  • Beautiful & cozy cabin!

"This cabin is great! It has all the amenities you need, modern and comfy furniture and decor. Nice open floor plan great for entertaining and nice patio. There is a spa on property but was not available so that would have been an added bonus. No wi-fi which at first was different but it was nice to be disconnected, plus they have a house phone. The game room upstairs was a lot of fun - ping pong, foosball, air hockey and more!"

  • Great House, Low on Supplies, Ants

"The house was everything you could have hoped for in a mountain cabin in August. There was ample space to sprawl out an relax, whether it was hanging out on the deck with a great view of the trees, down in on the lowest floor playing pool, having a TV in almost every room, or enjoying the master bath jacuzzi tub on the upper floor. This house suited our group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids under 3) more than enough. It's proximity to the town and lake was just far enough without feeling like a trek as well. Being as it was in a small condo community there were great areas to take a walk and explore. Also having kids we did appreciate the house having little to no tchotchkes down low or plastered on the walls. The house was very tasteful and inviting. The reason for not giving this house a fifth star would be a few things. First, the supplies provided during our stay were a little light. Being as we called this place home for a week, you can imagine we went through things rather quickly. The house did provide a washer and dryer, but 2 kitchen dish towels, limited bath hand towels and no wash cloths were a bit cumbersome with kid grimy hands always needing to be cleaned. Secondly, there wasn't a garage clicker provided, so in order to leave the house locked, you had to open the garage, drive your car out, go back into the garage to close the door, walk back through the house to go out the front door, and then lock the front door. I get the possibility of having someone accidentally leave with the clicker, but it's easy to add that to the "loss of security deposit." Lastly, we were faced with task of removing ants in the kitchen our entire stay. No matter how clean we kept the countertops, sink, stove, etc., we still were seeing them. They also were in drawers and under the sink. This would be the number one priority to get fixed moving forward. If I could, I would give this a 4.5/5 but since there isn't an option for that, I must stick to a 4. Regardless, this would be an excellent option should you chose to stay in Shaver Lake especially a large group. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze. Thank you!"

  • Great weekend in the cabin in Shaver Lake!

"My sisters and I spent the weekend at this cabin just this past weekend. We liked the look of the cabin, and it was pretty roomy. It was stalked pretty much with everything we needed; we just had to buy the groceries. It was nice that it was fairly close to some restaurants and the lake wasn't very far. We had some questions about where certain things were and was hoping someone would come over to answer any questions. The cabin was fairly clean but we had a few complaints. It was kind of dusty, especially in the closets where we wanted to hang clothes. The rugs in the kitchen were a little dangerous because every time you walked in the kitchen, the rug turned over. They need to be removed or a different type of rug could be used. We needed more newspaper to start the fireplace. Over all, the place was pretty nice."

  • Large house good for a multiple family getaway in summer or winter

"This is a large house with most basic amenities and lots of room for kids and stuff. The lake is close by and ideal for all kinds of summer recreation. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, hanging out in the comfortable living room, playing pool, and soaking in the hot tub. Bedrooms are sparsely furnished with beds and not much more. Some rooms are missing nightstands (or only have 1 for a two person bed) and/or dressers. Plentiful, but very low quality, kitchen supplies available. A few additional, or more generous amenities, would take this house from adequate to great. Seems very stingy not to supply refills of toilet paper, for example. My suggestions include drinking glasses (only plastic supplied), better quality linen (scratchy polyester supplied) decent silverware, and inexpensive basics like trash bags, sponges, and toilet paper."
