  • Perfect for our group of 2 families

"I highly recommend this cabin! Our group included three adults and two kids (ages 9 and 12) and it was perfect for our needs. We loved being able to sled, build snowmen, and snowshoe right behind the cabin."

  • A mountain summer wedding.

"Property was really well cared for with all the amenities. Owners were a delight to deal with. Convenient to Donner Lake as well as at the base of two ski areas (although we were in the area for a summer wedding). Even had the opportunity to watch some rock crawling competitions! Couldn't have found a better spot."

  • Wonderful time at Spruce cabin!

"Great place to stay. Huge home with great common spaces, well stocked kitchen with good layout for large group. We had 7 people and could have handled 7 more easily! Lorrie was very attentive and easy to work with! Beautiful area and clean, comfortable home! Only minor suggestions: upstairs railing to kids bunk room was a little wiggly and would suggest securing it as our little ones used it for stability; and, would have screens in the sliders to the deck! Enjoy more fresh air but didn't want to invite bugs in! Thank you Lorrie for letting us enjoy your home!!!"

  • Great spot for our family reunion

"House worked well for us with kids/cousins in the loft and adults in bedrooms. One of the downstairs bedrooms had no window, so no natural light or fresh air. The open living room/dining room/kitchen area was cozy and where we spent most of the time when we were in the house. Enjoyed evening cocktails on the deck until the mosquitoes drove us inside. Great location for many adventures during the day - an easy walk to the Serene Lake beach for even the little kids, quick access to hiking trail to Cascade Peak, and close enough to Truckee for groceries/shopping/ice cream, day trip to Squaw Valley for the tram ride, hike along the PCT near Sugar Bowl, and swim in Long Lake. Easy access to trains and hearing them pass through Soda Springs was a plus for at least one in our party. Such a great location. Nice to have use of the beach toys, bicycles, canoe, and kayak. We made good use of them all."
