  • EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED

"This home was warm and inviting, everthing it was advertised to be. The previous reviews were right on the money. Debbie was very accommodating to our needs and available during our stay for any questions that came up. The house had plenty of room for all of us and was well stocked. We will definitely be booking this place again!"

  • Lovely, charming cabin

"We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and it was perfect. There was 6 of us and the place was lovely. The dining table is nice and spacious to fit all 6 of us plus plenty of food on the table, the hot tub was easy to use and spacious, the bathrooms were great! Plenty of towels were provided and great shampoo and conditioner! The kitchen was also amazing. It had all the pots and pans, utensils, gadgets, bowls, spices - anything you need for cooking - it was fantastic! There was a grill so we definitely took advantage of that. The location of the cabin was close to Kings Beach, approx. 25 minutes (however can be up to an hour with traffic). We had a dog and it was even great for him. There was a water bowl plus a bowl for his food, and a bed. All in all it was a charming, clean, spacious cabin for us and we absolutely enjoyed the place. The owner was also very responsive, made the process of booking the cabin super easy, provided clear instructions and gave plenty of helpful information."

  • Wonderful little apartment, perfect location

"We had a wonderful stay. In town for a lacrosse tournament played around Truckee, staying right downtown was a great decision. Throughout the day there is a line of cars creeping through town, looking desperately for parking, and we had our reserved spot a block away from everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment itself was perfect for my daughter and I, she stayed in the built in bunk just off the kitchen, I stayed in the pull down bed behind the faux fire place. The kitchen was just big enough to make the meals and snacks we needed between games, and having a fridge is also really handy. Val & Buff were super accommodating, even delivering cookies on Father's day, and mailing home a shirt that we forgot. The only problem some might have is the proximity to the trains, as they go by at random times of the day and night and are just across the street. We come from a railroad town in Montana, so this wasn't a problem for us. One of our favorite parts of the stay was walking down to the other side of the village and renting bikes to ride on the Legacy Trail. If I had it to do over I would have rented a bike for our full stay in Truckee and ridden every day. Many of the other families from our Lacrosse team stayed in Reno, Carson City or Tahoe City, and I would highly recommend staying in Truckee for a tournament such as this. We never really needed to drive anywhere, and it made the stay a lot more enjoyable. Thank you Val & Buff!!"

  • Home away from home at Northstar cabin.

"My family of five (grandparents, adult kids and 4 year old grandson) thoroughly enjoyed a comfortable stay in this thoughtfully stocked and beautifully maintained home. Every amenity was provided. The cozy, familial feeling of the furnishings and decor was so inviting that we were able to entertain the others in our vacationing group as if we were in our own home. Hats off to owners Sue and Paul Derby, not only for providing such a terrific environment, but for checking in with us before, during and after our stay to insure that we had a problem-free respite. We will definitely be returning. Sincerely, Leanna Scdoris San Francisco."
