  • A little gem in the woods

"I like the privacy and autonomy of a home. However since we're just two people, we can only find the rack 'em and stack 'em sleeps 12 kinds of rentals. Casa Bella was the perfect size for us! Ideal for a couple or small family. Not sure about two couples as you'd have to share a shower, but hey, if you really, REALLY like each other, then it might work. The place is casual but very tasteful. This is how I would decorate a home. You know how most rentals have Aunt Jean's old sofa from 1983 that her Afghan hound "Biscuits " used to sleep on? Where you feel if you sit on it you might come up with an unexplainable rash? Not so with Casa Bella! VERY clean, comfortable furniture. You feel like you're at home. Nice, modern kitchen (rare). Love the granite counter. Very practical. Some appliances are a bit older but since we don't cook much up here it was more than enough for us. Bathrooms are simple in a charming lake cabin style, but also modern. Natalie invested in the important things--new toilets, sinks and shower. Comfy mattress. We have back issues and had no problem. Didn't miss the lack of air conditioning either. It gets cool at night and we just opened the gorgeous glass windows in the master at night and were very comfortable. Who comes to Twain Harte to sit inside the house with the windows closed? Natalie is very easy to deal with and responded promptly to my several queries. After signing a pretty straight forward contract (basically a common sense "Please don't take a dump on the sofa" type contract) and paying through Pay Pal we were set. I would highly recommend Casa Bella. A real little gem in the woods. Please note: if you have a four wheel drive, you can ignore this. If you have a four door sedan you will want to turn into the driveway SLOWLY. We drove in like we would at home and got a bouncy surprise. Husband said it made him feel like Matt Damon in "The Martian" trying not to roll the Mars Pathfinder Rover. No harm done but remember the terrain in Twain Harte is not as paved as you might be used to. Drive carefully."

  • Very comfortable and homey

"Eric & Christine's home was very well suited for our family of 8. Plenty of kitchen equipment, plates, pots and pans, etc. The beds where very comfortable. Eric spells everything out for you very well. In his communications to us he gave pretty much everything that we might need while there, even telling us about local businesses. The home is very comfortable, with just about every electronic thing you can think of, even with WiFi, which I don't fully understand, but most of my family does. Thank you Eric and Christine for allowing us to stay at you lovely home in the mountains. It also snowed about 13 inches the evening we where there, BEAUTIFUL."

  • Relaxing Retreat

"Every year we rent a vacation house for a family retreat. The Lone Star Lodge is by far our most favorite. We had six adults and eight kids between us. The kids loved the huge upstairs media room and the large flat yards. The adults loved having a separate space downstairs to relax by the fire. All our beds were new and extremely comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is for gourmet cooks and all four of the bathrooms are beautiful with rustic tile and wood. We have stayed in other homes in the area and the Lone Star has the best of everything. Being able to walk five minutes to the village center with all of the restaurants was perfect, yet the house was far enough away to be very quiet. By far, everyone agreed that our evenings together in the hot tub was the very best. The hot tub put this house over the top in terms of vacation rentals amenities. We will be returning to the Lone Star soon for ski season."

  • Excellent!

"Wonderful property and very relaxing! The stairs aren't bad at all and the scenery is beautiful! There is a lot of privacy and it is quiet. Great spot to get away from the busy day to day life"
