  • Very comfortable

"This is a very comfortable, clean and well equipped house. It had everything we needed for cooking, washing up, laundry etc and a great fridge- freezer. The deck is not very big - what you see in the photos - but adequate. The games room was a hit. Two minor moans - having to wash the towels before leaving! How can you be sure previous renters washed them properly? And Pine Mountain Lake resort has good facilities but some are restricted for renters. We could only use the pool after certain times. We could not play pickle ball because we had no bats and there were only two tennis racquets in the house - you cannot rent equipment there and have to book a day in advance. The supermarket near the entrance has everything you might want and is open until late. Just over an hour to Yosemite Valley but after Labor Day some places close early or completely. We went to Degnan’s Deli on the 7th Sept and the cafe and loft restaurant were closed, with the deli closing at 5pm. Overall a good place to stay and the house suited us well."

  • The last homely house east of the Sea

"We spent three nights at Groveland, using it for excursions into the Yosemite NP. We found Groveland to be a very good base camp,. Aside from the splendid Mar-Val Supermarket there is a choice of suitable restaurants nearby. The closer you get to the NP, the more compromises you have to make in that respect. In turn you have to take the lengthy drive into account. To the entrance of Yosemite Valley it takes about an hour one way and after our fourth excursion in to the park we became a little tired of all the driving. The house itself is a comfortable cabin style place with a lot of space for a larger party. We stayed with 4 adults and 5 little children and that worked out quite fine. The Pine Mountain Lake location is in the middle of nature, expect flocks of deer around the house at all times. In our fist night we had a clear sky and I saw the stars and especially the Milky Way as clearly as I hadn't seen them in ages. So it is also a great place to show your children what that candy bar is named after and you might want to bring that telescope that has been sitting in the attic for so long. Within the house, all the appliances are fit to host a larger than normal group, the downstairs game room seems to be a good plan B for rainy days, which we didn't have fortunately. What you should not expect is glamour and style. The house has come of age and while functioning perfectly well, it is of course there for the purpose of being rented to guests and subject to the laws of offer and demand. We did get what we expected for our money, Joe Castello was responsive in all transactions and we can definitely recommend the place for future visits."

  • Perfect Location, Lovely Cabin!

"My husband and I stayed for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. We were very happy with the cabin. This was our first VRBO experience and Lee made it so care-free and pleasant. We had a couple of telephone chats prior to our arrival and he was able to offer some great tips and ideas for things to do, places to go and status of the weather conditions. We had a great weekend, in no small part to this great location. The cabin is close enough to trail heads and the lakes to enjoy them, far enough away to feel off on our own when at the cabin. We brought our own meals and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and serving up our meals. The cabin is nicely sized for a couple, but with the extra bedroom-loft, we would also have been comfy with another couple along as well. The wood stove was very easy to start and provided more than adequate warmth for the entire cabin during a pretty chilly weekend. We absolutely would rent this cabin again if/when we explore this area of the Sierra further, and we would recommend Lee's cabin if you're looking for a comfortable place to land in this area."

  • Picturesque Vacation Getaway

"We loved this house! We stayed over Labor Day weekend, and felt very at home and comfortable. The Ripmas thought of everything. The house was clean and well-maintained. We loved taking a dip in the pool after the long drive from LA. The views from the porch are amazing.....and the porch itself was so fun! My kids and I spent time swinging on the swing, and our family enjoyed breakfast on the porch. Thanks for a wonderful stay...we hope we'll be coming back soon!"
