  • Wonderful Snug and Comfortable Cabin

"We enjoyed a three-generation getaway here, and everything was perfect. Wonderful host provided everything you could wish for in a vacation home and then some. We certainly hope to visit Sugar Pine Cabin again. Our grandchildren were enthralled with the snow, and there was plenty of room for all 8 of us. Chains were required this year, although last year when we stayed the same time period, they weren't. So just check before you come in the wintertime. We'd definitely recommend this clean and comfy home away from home."

  • Relaxing oasis

"My family and I enjoyed returning to the Sunset Inn each day after our outings in Yosemite. Our well-crafted cabin, the lawn and flowers, the surrounding national forest, the greenhouse and the chicken coop -- it all soothed us. We appreciated the owners' aesthetic and low-key, friendly style."

  • Perfect Getaway Vacation from the Big City

"This is a well maintained property that the owners take pride in. That attention to detail is demonstrated in the home's appearance, amenities and quick response times. Because of our large party, we were able to take advantage of both the house and bungalow homes. Both homes were well stocked in the kitchen with kitchen tools, gadgets and leftover cooking ingredients. It made it easy to cook every morning/evening especially because we also had access to the outdoor grill. And if you were missing anything, a large grocery store was only minutes away in Mariposa. We had children in our party and the homes and property offered plenty of board/card games, video games and foosball to combat boredom. I think they had the most fun on the tree swing that runs near the dry creek bed. While it was hot during our trip, both homes made efficient use of a swamp cooler that pulled cool air in and maintained a comfortable temperature. We had some minor maintenance issues during our weeklong stay, however the owners Kelly & Ansley responded quickly, and the items were taken care of the same day before we returned from our day trip to Yosemite. Speaking of the owners, they did a great job providing information about the surrounding area and the park. We especially loved the nice touch of the welcoming note and wine bottle. Every morning and evening, we'd spend our time relaxing on the hammocks or the hot tub being serenaded by the wind chime that was hand made in Mariposa. We liked it so much, we picked one up in town for our very own. All in all, a great place to just "get off the grid" and relax with Yosemite a short hour away. We highly recommend this property! TIP: While the house provides WiFi, we suggest downloading offline maps of the area via Google Maps since much of the surrounding area near the house has no cell phone coverage - (AT&T & Sprint anyway)."

  • Perfect Location, Lovely Cabin!

"My husband and I stayed for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. We were very happy with the cabin. This was our first VRBO experience and Lee made it so care-free and pleasant. We had a couple of telephone chats prior to our arrival and he was able to offer some great tips and ideas for things to do, places to go and status of the weather conditions. We had a great weekend, in no small part to this great location. The cabin is close enough to trail heads and the lakes to enjoy them, far enough away to feel off on our own when at the cabin. We brought our own meals and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and serving up our meals. The cabin is nicely sized for a couple, but with the extra bedroom-loft, we would also have been comfy with another couple along as well. The wood stove was very easy to start and provided more than adequate warmth for the entire cabin during a pretty chilly weekend. We absolutely would rent this cabin again if/when we explore this area of the Sierra further, and we would recommend Lee's cabin if you're looking for a comfortable place to land in this area."
