  • Amazing family time experience

"What a wonderful cabin and bunkhouse. The family enjoyed the location being so close to Yosemite. I and other family members enjoyed the cabin, bunkhouse and other amenities. We had plenty of room for our reunion. The children loved the swing set and rope swing. The bocce ball game area was great fun. The advice, communication the owner provided was wonderful. Anyone that discovers this property will love their experience."

  • Felt like being in a fairy tale

"Looking at the cottage from the outside and any angle you can't help but feel like it's straight out of some fairy tale. It was gorgeous and cute and just what we needed for our short stay. After arriving and seeing the place and the surrounding area I was disappointed we weren't staying longer to enjoy it more. We were really only in the area to see Yosemite but it would have been nice to have a day to just hang around the cottage, pool and hot tub. I would highly recommend it. The caretaker Tony was great at giving a tour of the place and the resident dogs were quick to give you company whether you were just strolling through the property or diving into the pool. We didn't get to sit around a campfire and relax but we did enjoy some wine around the hot tub to refresh our sore legs (from hiking) - maybe we'll do a campfire next time."

  • We really enjoyed our stay!

"The cabin is beautiful, clean and very comfortable; we enjoyed seeing the deer every morning. It had everything we needed to make our visit to Yosemite a wonderful experience. Communication with the owners prior to our arrival was easy. My only concern/recommendation is the need for Wifi or a land line. We were informed before we signed; I also read in another review that AT&T worked but that was not the case for us. We travel with small children and in case of an emergency I would have no way of calling 911. I would be ok (as I think most would) with paying an additional 10$ per stay for access. Thank you!"

  • Super comfy place

"We stayed here with our two kids for their first visit to Yosemite. I'm not a great traveler; I'm painfully sensitive to noise, so was hoping for something peaceful. This couldn't have been better. The gated property has two cabins, the other being at some distance away (and might have been empty at the time). All of us loved the cabin and the surroundings. The full kitchen is stocked with utensils. There's plenty of room to relax in the living room and separate bedrooms. It's a substantial drive into the park, but it sure was great to be in absolute quiet in the evenings. Our eleven-year-old did a painting of the sunrise from the front of the cabin. My only complaints were squeaky bedroom doors, which I alerted the owners to, and the fact that it is pretty expensive. But everything nice around Yosemite is pretty expensive. I had previously made a reservation at a resort location a few miles up the road and had needed to cancel, but while we were at Mountain Cottage we drove up there to eat and found that the other place was not only huge but was having a very loud wedding party, so I thanked my lucky stars for our quiet cabin in the woods. The owner was also very helpful in follow-up emails about planning future visits."
