  • Beautiful, calming, relaxing, and so much fun!

"My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary. We had such an amazing time. The cabin was perfect! It felt like a home away from home. Everything we needed/ wanted was in the cabin! We loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek behind the cabin. The suggestions provided for activities to do in/around the cabin were spectacular. We went to Yosemite, rode the sugar pine logger train, went jet skiing on bass lake and enjoyed a beautiful hike behind the cabin up to a waterfall! It was the perfect trip for our first anniversary !"

  • Pluses and minuses

"Pluses. Exactly as described. Very comfortable bed and linens. Clean. Futon was comfy to sit on. Great location. Quiet. Convenient to town. Appreciated the basket w brochures about local things to do. Jay was always responsive and flexible in booking. Wifi was great. Hot water temp in shower was perfect. Minuses. Check in was 4pm. The room was not ready till about 425. Jay forgot to give us the key, nor did we remember to ask for it. So when we left the next morning we had to leave the door unlocked. My biggest minus would only bother someone who is an animal lover. Jay has 2 bull mastif dogs in the yard. Each is chained by neck collar to about a 20 ft wire hung between two trees. They can run up and down the line. The dog houses saw better days a few years ago. It just broke both our hearts to see how these dogs lived. Out in the cold at night."

  • Excellent Spot for Gathering of Family and/or Friends!

"We were in area for my daughter's wedding at Paradise Springs and 'Heaven's Gate" served as HQ for family of bride. Prior to arriving in area, Sunday provided good information (where to buy groceries, etc.) made it easy to move right in so we didn't have to make multiple trips to town before settling. Disturbed half a dozen who were hanging out on both sides of front porch to greet us. First night easily hosted the groom and his parents with our family for steaks on the deck and wine I acquired from local wineries on way in from FAT via Madera. Oakhurst has branch of Depts Interior and Agriculture/Forest Service where you can get passes in advance to expedite a Yosemite visit. Easy access (go EARLY in day) to Yosemite National Park after a proper breakfast prepared in kitchen stocked with necessary implements. Chilled on wedding day, read our books out on deck after touching up formal wear with iron from laundry area. Everyone in our party made favorable remarks about the property. It definitely suited our needs. Cordial and business-like including prompt refund of my damage deposit. Thanks, Sunday!"
