  • Best Home rental Ever

"My wife and I and 3 friends arrived on June 1st for 5 nights. We were set to do 4 day hikes in Yosemite and this would be our home. My first reaction upon seeing the home from the inside was "Wow!, it looks bigger than the pictures". The living room, dining room, and kitchen are immense, modern, just perfect. Wonderful backyard with large BBQ (full propane tank) and table with umbrella. The 2 bedrooms upstairs have California King Beds. Downstairs there's a Queen bedroom. ALL bedrooms have their own bath, which is super convenient and makes it more like home. They also have a den with Satellite TV. The main downside is the Internet access which is very poor but the owner is exploring HughesNet Satellite Internet. But trust me, we did not mind at all. Verizon cell phone signal was good. The only beef is that we, as renters, have to do the kitchen cleanup and hauling of all trash to the dumpsters 1.5 miles away. Again, I would do this all over again. But thought you should be aware. The coffee machine needs basket filters which you should bring. The kitchen is so well equipped with pots, pans, etc., that of our 5 nights there, we cooked and BBQ'ed for 5 people 4 of those nights. The cost of groceries at the Village Store was not as bad as we expected. That is 30 minutes away. The owner was communicative and helpful. You will be glad you stayed here. Thanks Lucy!!"

  • The Most Wonderful Vacation Retreat

"Enjoying Thanksgiving with our family at this wonderful vacation retreat. Watching deer grazing outside our windows. (lots of them, everyday) Hiking to the tree house. Exploring all the unique buildings on the property. Warming in the jacuzzi. Cooling in the pool (even in the winter, if you are 8 or 11) Playing all the games, inside or out. Listening to Sirius radio. Watching TV. Snuggling by the fireplace. Jeff, thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation retreat with our family. Can't wait to return (maybe summer and winter) Your attention to detail, comfort, pleasure and cleanliness exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return."

  • Lovely Property in Nature

"I stayed at the Chaw'se house with 11 people. We were producing a wedding at a larger resort about half an hour away and needed to stay near by. Unfortunately I had to work 14 hour days so I didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities on property, but a few others did. The house was perfect for 11 people, and can comfortably fit 12 people (with people sharing beds). Theres's a gravel road today e to the property, so it's a bit off the beaten path...but nothing you shouldn't be able the handle. The road is even enough. Parking is not RIGHT up to the property, there's a sturdy bridge you must go over to get to the house but there's ample lighting and the care taker on property m greeted us in her 4 wheeler and offered to bring our groceries over for us which was very kind! There are two dogs on property, a peacock and lots of wild life. Our house was very clean, linens were new, they had goals set up and ready on a new grill when we arrived which was awesome. You should definitely bring food to cook on property as the store is a bit of a drive. The pool is nice, wifi is VERY limited. This would be a GREAT spot for a family reunion, or a small wedding if you bought out the whole property. Would definitely come here again!"

  • Absolutely wonderful!

"This place is amazing! Exactly as described. It is small, but not cramped, and about as close to Yosemite as you can expect to stay without staying in the park. We had 4 adults and a 4 month old and found it to be the perfect size. The land the home is on is beautiful, open, and remote enough to feel very private (while still being close enough to get into Mariposa as needed).w We unfortunately were unable to use the observatories, as our baby was always asleep once it got dark and we didn't want to leave her, but the instructions for using them were clear and concise. Overall I am so glad we found this place!!! Great home-based for our Yosemite trip!"
