  • Quiet, comfortable, perfect condition

"Two couples used this rental as home base for a Yosemite vacation. It is wonderful and exactly as described - just what we wanted. All the "excellent" reviews are right on target! Waze directed us to the house with no problems. It was easy to find, even in the dark. But use the homeowner's instructions for navigating to Yosemite. And if you are looking for an alternative to the Mariposa giant Sequoia grove in Yosemite (which is closed for upgrading), try Nelder Grove, which is in the Sierra National Forest, convenient to this house, and not at all crowded."

  • Quiet, peaceful, nicely appointed house

"My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in April and found this to be a terrific base for visiting Yosemite. The cabin is in excellent condition and the king bed downstairs was very comfortable. The downstairs bath was also a nice size. There were 2 porches, a propane grill, and picnic table. Two bedrooms were upstairs, but we didn't use them. There was a small TV with a good selection of TV channels to watch, gas fireplace and built-in dining bench, table and chairs plus a kitchen table. It was just so quiet and peaceful; a nice place to unwind after a long day in the valley. We had good cell reception with our Verizon phones. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to Yosemite Valley once we got used to the roads. Compared to the other motels we passed coming into the Park our first day, and out of the Park when we left on a different route, we were so glad we had chosen to stay here. The mountain drive you would have to make each day to get into and out of the Valley or to go to Glacier Point, etc., would have been much longer and miserable. We would stay here again. The owners were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with."

  • A great and relaxing place fairly close to Yosemite Valley, perfect for watching sunsets

"We spent five nights in Yosemite National Park, and it was made perfect with our stay in the Sunset House. If you are not interested in staying in the Yosemite Valley, this is a very convenient and relaxing place nearby. As long as you are prepared to bring your own groceries and tune out with fairly limited cell phone/internet coverage, this is a great place to finish a day of hiking or sightseeing within the park. We had Verizon, so we could get some limited coverage, which was great, as it was just enough to keep connected with the outside world, but not so much that we spent the entire time looking at our smartphones. Instead, we passed the time making meals, relaxing on the patio, and watching beautiful sunsets. One night my wife asked me to pull over so she could take a picture of the charismatic "Speeding kills bears" road sign just about a mile before the Yosemite West turn off, when wouldn't you believe it, a real bear ran across the highway. So, this is definitely in a remote and wild area."

  • Convenient and comfortable cabin

"The cabin was clean and comfortable. Our family of 6 had a great stay here. The location was also very convenient. It was easy to visit all the spots within the park. We would definitely come back!"
