  • Great get-away for 50th birthday

"For my 50th, my wife and I decided I needed to get away. Into the woods. Somewhere off the beaten path. Somewhere between Southern California (where my family is the remainder of this year) and Northern California (where I am now working). My brother in law suggested a couple of towns on the west side of the Sierras. We both hit on this nice looking and nice sounding place in Mi-Wuk VIllage that could sleep up to 12 (in case others would join our two families). Pictures were nice and the description of the amenities sounded very inviting. So, I booked the weekend. My wife and kids got there around 8 PM, and my brother in-law got there around 9:30 P.M....I got in close to 1 A.M. as I was driving in from a banquet in Sonoma County. I was bleary eyed and worn out. I stumbled in through the door to find my wife on the couch. She led me to the bedroom where we would camp out. The bed was cozy. I passed out immediately. When daylight came, I went out to my car to get my big ice chest and then went back to sleep. I awoke a little later to smells of breakfast being cooked in the kitchen. The kitchen was outfitted with a full measure of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, appliances, you name it! Breakfast was eggs and pancakes and bacon and coffee. Good stuff! The kids went out and played in the snow. Meanwhile, I explored the house....upstairs in the loft and downstairs, too. Televisions and VCR/DVD players on the downstairs level was a good place for the kids to burn time when they were not outside. Plenty of books and board games and card games were found on the main floor for the rest of us to burn time. Dinner time came soon enough. I pulled off the long cover on the bar-b-que and found it started up in an instant! We cooked steaks on a low and slow process to allow us to get salad and mash potatoes ready. Great dinner, great zinafande, great desert (two cakes mixed on the counter and baked in the oven). Alas, Sunday morning came and we had to clean up and clean out. Oh, too brief a time to spend at this wondrous house in the Mi WUk woods. We all agreed we need to make a return trip someday and spend a week there!"

  • Wonderful white Christmas for several families!

"This cabin is as described " SPACIOUS"! We love the kitchen, the living room with the fireplace, and the front and back yard. Kids play snow fight in front of the cabin and also in the back yard. The location is also great, with walking distance to highway 108 and the local market. One thing we been enjoying doing is taking a walk around the neighborhood after each meals. Mi-Wuk village is a lovely quite little village with friendly people. It's close to Dodge Ridge ski resort but we end up staying all five days around Mi-Wuk Village cause we have so much fun just staying in the cabin or walking around it. BTW, the kitchen has almost everything! All the pots and pans and utensils. We can cook our traditional Christmas turkey dinner and make several cakes there without any problem. Overall, kids love their 5 days there, adults also enjoy our white Christmas at the SPACIOUS Burr family cabin. Thank you, Angel and Will."

  • Fantastic Getaway

"My entire family (14 of us) thoroughly enjoyed our time in Groveland. We found the house to be clean and perfectly equipped (although the coffee maker wasn't clean when we got there...). The view was fantastic - in fact we enjoyed the deck both day and night. The pool table, foosball table and plethora of board games gave us plenty to do at the house. We also found the town charming and even enjoyed a visit to the little museum/library. We could not have asked for a more perfect weekend getaway!"

  • Family skiing weekend

"We booked this condo due to its proximity to the local eateries and Mammoth Mountain ski resort. There was plenty of room for our 4 adults and 2 kids. We were provided with instructions on entry, wifi, fireplace info, etc. The Jacuzzi is super close so no need to freeze your bum off getting to and fro. There's also a dry sauna next to the jacuzzi which was super nice! The unit is pet friendly yet really clean and smelled great. The cleaning crew does a great job! The one downside was that the kitchen will only fit 2 chef's comfortably. We would highly recommend this condo to our family and friends! Enjoy!"
