  • Warm and cozy home, just watch out for the ants!

"Bears Lair was a warm and cozy home for our family's vacation. My young daughter loved the numerous stuffed bears spread throughout the home. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary pots/pans/utensils, which was great. However, we encountered some carpenter ants in the kitchen. A call to the rental company didn't result in any action being taken during our visit. We enjoyed using the facilities at the nearby Blue Lake Club (included in rental) during our stay. Please note that the zip-line has been taken down; apparently PG&E cut down the trees used for the zip-line. Overall, a good stay but would have liked to have seen our concerned addressed in a timely manner."

  • Cozy & warm cabin in Mariposa

"My husband and I came to this cottage over the Valentine's weekend. As we entered, we felt like we were at home. It is simply and thoughtfully decorated with sufficient heaters in each room. Very comfortable, clean and near the town. Had everything needed to make meals. I accidentally left my electronic device behind and they were kind enough to mail it back to me. Doe & Chris, thank you so much for sharing your lovely Mariposa home with us."

  • Absolutely Delightful

"We arrived to find the cabin in a spotless condition and with everything we'd need to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Aside from the kitchen, which has everything you need to make a meal, there were thoughtful touches such as robes and slippers. The cabin itself is nestled among pine trees and is quiet and secluded. You are next to the Papa Bear cabin, but somehow you feel as though you're alone in the woods. And it's close enough to Nevada City without being overrun by tourists. We definitely would return."
