  • Mammoth Mountain Retreat

"Dear Cherie, Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful condo. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was beautifully decorated and very well equipped with everything we needed. The privacy and view from the balcony was outstanding. We will definitely return in the near future. Thanks again, Lorraine Ames"

  • Great!

"Very nice, clean, well-appointed, large home with spectacular mountain view (no lake view) from kitchen, great room, and deck. Just as described in listing. The kitchen is better equipped than most VRBO homes I've stayed in. The owner, Mike, is responsive and helpful. We were there in early September with warm sunny days. There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and the great room, but none in the loft. The loft is the warmest place in the house, and even with all the loft windows open there was not much breeze, so it would be good to have a fan up there. Otherwise all was perfect. We went for hikes in the Eastern Sierra and Tioga Pass area every day and this house was a wonderful place to return to each day. We definitely recommend it!"

  • A great and relaxing place fairly close to Yosemite Valley, perfect for watching sunsets

"We spent five nights in Yosemite National Park, and it was made perfect with our stay in the Sunset House. If you are not interested in staying in the Yosemite Valley, this is a very convenient and relaxing place nearby. As long as you are prepared to bring your own groceries and tune out with fairly limited cell phone/internet coverage, this is a great place to finish a day of hiking or sightseeing within the park. We had Verizon, so we could get some limited coverage, which was great, as it was just enough to keep connected with the outside world, but not so much that we spent the entire time looking at our smartphones. Instead, we passed the time making meals, relaxing on the patio, and watching beautiful sunsets. One night my wife asked me to pull over so she could take a picture of the charismatic "Speeding kills bears" road sign just about a mile before the Yosemite West turn off, when wouldn't you believe it, a real bear ran across the highway. So, this is definitely in a remote and wild area."
