  • Nice Retreat with Family Ties

"We stayed at this house for 7 nights between Xmas and New Years´s and had an overall good experience. The house is nicely located in the Santa Barbara Mission district within a very walkable residential neighborhood. the Spanish style house is very typical for Santa Barbara and this updated property fits right in. The beautifully landscaped garden is perfect for entertaining and relaxing, albeit in winter is was too cool for us. The pool is quite nice, but in winter takes 2 days to heat up. Probably a request to the owners beforehand that their caretaker switches the heat pump on is a good idea. The kitchen is very well equipped with the state of that art appliances you can expect for this rate and on the plus side has more of the pots, pans, chef´s knives and cooking equipment we had seen before. The outside Weber grill is fantastic and connected to a gas line - no worries about tanks! If you´re comfortable staying in a house with many personal-of-the-owners reminders, this is a wonderful place and you feel right at home. The plus of this arrangement is that you don´t have to buy each and every item as if renting a holiday condo (i.e. TP, laundry detergent, handsoaps, etc.). We only had one small electrical problem with a light fixture and a call to the caretaker was immediately responded to. Friendly Lupe came over at once took care of the issue. The owners, although across the country during our stay, were thoughtfully in touch to check up on us if everything is OK. Check-in and Check-out was easy with the instructions. We had a happy week in Santa Barbara at Casa di Fiori."

  • Wonderful Newport Local Getaway

"Our family of 4 loved our visit during the winter holiday break at Gary's great getaway, situated in a wonderful Newport location. We felt like locals – enjoying walking 2 blocks away from the sandy white beach & boardwalk, riding nearby rental bikes on the bike path, and being walking distance to restaurants and cafes and even Pavilions grocery store for home-cooking, easy access to surfing lessons at Huntington and hiking at Crystal Cove. This 3 bedroom brightly lit upper unit had a comfortable feel with the hardwood floors, outside decks and comfy beds with good linens. The covered parking spot and safe neighborhood for our teenage girls to explore were key. Gary was the host of the most – giving us a great orientation to the area & its Lido Marina, Wedge, Balboa Island and was so responsive to all our needs from inquiry to arrival and checkout. Many thanks, Gary, for our great stay to your lovely home!"

  • Excellent Stay!

"This was a fabulous place to stay in Carlsbad! We arrived to the unit after a long car ride with just enough time to enjoy cool sand on our feet as the sun was setting over the ocean. Beach access really is just across the street! The condo was exactly as described. Our favorite feature was the balcony, where we enjoyed pleasant evenings, listening to the waves. There was plenty of room for our party of three adults and one child. We had no trouble getting in with instructions provided. Kathy communicated exactly as promised, providing all the necessary details. I would definitely stay here again!"

  • Love this place!

"There were 9 adults in our party. We came to Murphy's for a concert at Ironestone Vineyards. This beautiful "cottage" has breathtaking views, comfortable beds and just a great ambiance and feel! Plenty of room in the small kitchen to enjoy a decent size meal for 9 of us. We were here on a 100 degree weekend and all of us slept nicely, with the air conditioner and large ceiling fans, there is also a standing oscillating fan available. Good water pressure and plenty of linens, towels, etc. There is a small BBQ pit and charcoal available, but bring your own fire starting fluid. This lovely place is up in the mountains and out in the country, but you are still pretty close to town. Expect some small bugs, mosquitos and maybe a spider, so be prepared with some repellent. Other than that, this place is perfection! Three of us liked it so much, we stayed another night. Can't wait to come up for a romantic weekend with the hubby! The owners Rebecca and Gary are very nice, friendly and accommodating! Thanks you two, we will definately stay again!"
