  • Extremely convenient to Bear Mountain Ski Resort

"We stayed during Spring Break in the Lower Unit and had a fabulous time. There is a large back yard for children to play and the Local Zoo is an easy walk although it is moving further down the hill soon. The lower unit is well equipped with everything you need to feel like it is home away from home and the WiFi is adequate for streaming TV so bring you ROKU or Apple TV. There is only television in the livingroom so we set up streaming in the bedrooms for the kids. You can hear the upper duplex downstairs, basically walking, showers and flushing but it became white noise to us during the week we stayed in the lower unit. Straight down Moonridge or Goldmine is Bear Belly Cafe, coffee shops and a Walgreens. The trash sight is just past Walgreens straight down Moonridge. To stock your fridge, there are two grocery stores down Moonridge and make a right on Big Bear Blvd. For skiing, you can walk to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit is a 5 minutes drive. The property managers were very responsive during our stay and always got back to us same day. We were never able to start a fire but there is a fireplace for those more experienced with getting a fire started. There is no patio furniture in back but perhaps that was just because we were there during ski season. It snowed twice during our stay in late March so if you stay in summer, perhaps there will be patio furniture in back for BBQ's. Parking is tight so 2 cars for lower and 2 cars for the upper unit is as good as it gets. There is no street parking."

  • Couldn't be closer to the slopes!

"We had a great time at this house. It is walking distance to Bear Mountain with beautiful views of the slopes and it sleeps a ton of people. The hot tub was great. We used it a lot. The owner was on premises in a small apartment attached to the house. It was nice to have him there for a few questions but also took away a bit of our ease because we were always hoping we weren't being too loud, etc. Kitchen has no basics like spices, foil, oil, sugar, etc. so come prepared to have all that. (There was salt and pepper.) Bring games if you want them. Layout of the cabin is kinda funky but it does the job for a big group. Overall, we had a great time. We were a group of kids and grown ups and we really enjoyed our time there. And, again, it couldn't be closer to the slopes!! That (and the hot tub) are the magic of this place! Enjoy!"

  • Great Cabin. Owner easy to work with. We were 10 people and there was plenty of room for everyone.

"We rented this cabin from Steve for 5 days and it was great. I loved the layout of the cabin where the kitchen, living room and master bed/bath is upstairs. It worked out really well for us since all the kids were downstairs and busy playing ping pong in the garage. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The living room is big and open with lots of games. (loved the shuffle board). I know there is a wii as well but we never had time to use it. Too many other activities :-) The cabin was clean and well maintained. The washer and dryer was great for the wet lake towels. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of clean towels. The owner easy to work with. We will definitely be back."

  • Definitely Recommend!

"This was my second time at this cabin and I enjoyed as much as first time! It is in the perfect location and a close drive to everything. The price is great for what you get, a comfortable, cozy cabin. As noted by other reviewers the stairs are difficult for dogs, either going down to Master or up to loft so be aware of this. Otherwise I would recommend to everyone and already have to my friends. One of the best things is the owner Kerry, he is so nice and generous and a pleasure to deal with."
