  • Steps to the lake

"This studio was perfect for two people, it was literally a few steps to the lake, and a short 3 minute walk to Pine Knot Avenue (the "main" street with shops, bars, restaurants, theater, etc). The studio was clean and well appointed, with an attached garage so you could stow your stuff (but not a car) inside and have more walking around space in the studio. This was perfect for our bikes, stroller, luggage etc. There was a BBQ on the patio, and all the appliances in the studio worked. There was no stove top, just a single burner hot plate, but there was a microwave, toaster oven and refrigerator (and a dishwasher). The heater was adequate for our needs. My only complaint was that we did not have keys to the pool area or the dock area, and our calls to the owner weren't answered (it was a holiday week end, so perhaps he was on holiday). The adjacent hotel was listed as a contact for problems, but they said they no longer managed the rental. I would absolutely rent this again, but I would clarify the pool and dock key beforehand."

  • The cabin is in a great location and had everything our family of 6 needed!

"We loved the cabin. It was spacious, clean and well stocked. The check-in and check-out was so smooth, it couldn't have been easier. The cabin is located in a wonderful area, not a far drive into town and to the ski slopes. Although there wasn't much snow, we found a great little spot up the street to do some sledding. We also drove to a park for some more sledding. The cabin has a cute backyard with a little swing that my younger boy enjoyed. The living room and kitchen and dining area were all open and made a nice space for relaxing with the family. We brought our own games but we're excited to look in the closet and find a boat load of games and building sets to add to our fun. The TVs worked well and the cabin had many movies to choose from, both DVDs and VCR tapes. The bedrooms were very comfy and all the cabin was decorated so tastefully. There were plenty of throws and comforters to make for cozy nights and mornings. When cooking in the cabin, we found every thing we needed. We come to Big Bear every year in February and we've been looking for a cabin to rent year after year. I think we've Finally found it!"

  • Cozy, Quiet Weekend

"My family and I stayed at Apple Jacks cabin on Memorial Day Weekend and had a lovely time. The property was very cozy and had all the amenities. There were 6 of us (4 adults and 2 children) and there was sleeping space for everyone. The cabin is close to everything (it's only walking distance to the zoo), but far enough from the hustle and bustle in town to appreciate some peace and quiet. We also took a soothing dip in the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking!"

  • Cozy, clean house very close to the slopes

"The owners made the rental very personal by being there to show us around. The house is clean and as advertised. My only concern is that the house is very crowded with lots of stuff but on the other hand, it could be seen as cozy and 'antique'! ☺ Having Netflix and fantastic Internet speed made movie watching enjoyable. The kids also loved playing in the front and side yard with the accumulated snow! Thanks to Dennis & Jean for sharing their home and making our stay enjoyable."
