  • First Big Bear Trip

"A few friends and my girlfriend wanted to go to Big Bear and rent a cabin. I came across Darin's cabin, and it seemed to be perfect as far as look, number of rooms, and proximity to the slopes/lakes/restaurants. I contacted Darin with my interest in his cabin, and he was very nice and prompt in responding. The cabin itself was very nice. It is located very close to all the major hotspots and was not very difficult to find. From the outside, it looked like a cabin from a movie! Inside the cabin was very modern, but still had its cabin feel and touches. All appliances, lights, and heating worked as expected. Only a few minor things: 1. the master bedroom shower door was stuck and seemed to take too much force to open, and in fear of breaking it, we opted to share the other shower 2. The ceiling fan light in the living room was not functioning, which Darin stated to us before arriving 3. Bunk beds were very squeaky, so one of our friends decided to sleep on the couch. Besides those minor things, the cabin was perfect. We will definitely be staying there again! Thank you Darin!"

  • Couldn't be closer to the slopes!

"We had a great time at this house. It is walking distance to Bear Mountain with beautiful views of the slopes and it sleeps a ton of people. The hot tub was great. We used it a lot. The owner was on premises in a small apartment attached to the house. It was nice to have him there for a few questions but also took away a bit of our ease because we were always hoping we weren't being too loud, etc. Kitchen has no basics like spices, foil, oil, sugar, etc. so come prepared to have all that. (There was salt and pepper.) Bring games if you want them. Layout of the cabin is kinda funky but it does the job for a big group. Overall, we had a great time. We were a group of kids and grown ups and we really enjoyed our time there. And, again, it couldn't be closer to the slopes!! That (and the hot tub) are the magic of this place! Enjoy!"

  • Beautiful and Comfortable Cabin

"We just got back from a great weekend at this cabin. The Cabin is wonderful and clean and fully stocked. There were extra toiletries and towels. The entire cabin seems renovated down to the bathrooms. Amazing views in the day and night of the slopes. The beds were all extremely comfortable. They all seemed to have a memory foam topper that really puts this rental on the higher end. We would love to stay at this cabin again in the future if we have enough people."

  • Nice Lakefront

"Just spent 4 days at this home on the lake and it was great! My family and I spent most of our time outside on the patio looking at the lake. Very relaxing. The boat dock is well kept and clean. The inside of the house is small but very clean. Kitchen appliances looked new. Carpeting in the living room felt clean for walking barefoot. Some carpets have had a sticky feeling in homes we've stayed in. The two full size beds on the main level were GREAT, very comfortable. My adult siblings stayed in the upper room with 2 twin beds and they said they were good with them. Upper bathroom has a shower with toilet. The lower bathroom has a tub. Didn't use the washer/dryer but they looked new also. There is a dishwasher (didn't use). A coffee maker, small blender and a toaster. The pans for frying were clean, as all the dishes and utensils. Also a good size kitchen table we used to play cards and dominoes on in the evenings. This house is perfect for 6 people comfortably. Lots of windows with plenty of ventilation. A clean patio table, picnic bench style with umbrella and a small metal table with 4 chairs, and enough patio chairs for all 6 of us. The property is well lit at night. The only problem I had was with the back door slider, it was a little hard to slide. A couple of swipes with an old candle on the bottom rail with solve it. The small 2ft wall outside the patio door made it a bit difficult for my elderly parents to pass as we sat on the patio chairs there along the house viewing the lake. It doesn't leave too much walking room and we had to help them walk by. Not having that small brick wall there would be nice and give more patio space. If you don't have elderly or small kids its not an issue. Also this is a NO PET rental and one of the neighbor renters had a very friendly little dog named Larry who liked to wander all over and was a frequent guest to our patio. Overall, this has a awesome view of the lake and well kept. We will definitely stay again."
