"We had a pleasant visit, the house is clean, organized and well kept. The backyard is amazing, we loved having a morning cup of coffee out on the patio. Plenty of space for a nice family visit."

  • Extremely convenient to Bear Mountain Ski Resort

"We stayed during Spring Break in the Lower Unit and had a fabulous time. There is a large back yard for children to play and the Local Zoo is an easy walk although it is moving further down the hill soon. The lower unit is well equipped with everything you need to feel like it is home away from home and the WiFi is adequate for streaming TV so bring you ROKU or Apple TV. There is only television in the livingroom so we set up streaming in the bedrooms for the kids. You can hear the upper duplex downstairs, basically walking, showers and flushing but it became white noise to us during the week we stayed in the lower unit. Straight down Moonridge or Goldmine is Bear Belly Cafe, coffee shops and a Walgreens. The trash sight is just past Walgreens straight down Moonridge. To stock your fridge, there are two grocery stores down Moonridge and make a right on Big Bear Blvd. For skiing, you can walk to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit is a 5 minutes drive. The property managers were very responsive during our stay and always got back to us same day. We were never able to start a fire but there is a fireplace for those more experienced with getting a fire started. There is no patio furniture in back but perhaps that was just because we were there during ski season. It snowed twice during our stay in late March so if you stay in summer, perhaps there will be patio furniture in back for BBQ's. Parking is tight so 2 cars for lower and 2 cars for the upper unit is as good as it gets. There is no street parking."

  • First Big Bear Trip

"A few friends and my girlfriend wanted to go to Big Bear and rent a cabin. I came across Darin's cabin, and it seemed to be perfect as far as look, number of rooms, and proximity to the slopes/lakes/restaurants. I contacted Darin with my interest in his cabin, and he was very nice and prompt in responding. The cabin itself was very nice. It is located very close to all the major hotspots and was not very difficult to find. From the outside, it looked like a cabin from a movie! Inside the cabin was very modern, but still had its cabin feel and touches. All appliances, lights, and heating worked as expected. Only a few minor things: 1. the master bedroom shower door was stuck and seemed to take too much force to open, and in fear of breaking it, we opted to share the other shower 2. The ceiling fan light in the living room was not functioning, which Darin stated to us before arriving 3. Bunk beds were very squeaky, so one of our friends decided to sleep on the couch. Besides those minor things, the cabin was perfect. We will definitely be staying there again! Thank you Darin!"

  • Very Nice place for a large group

"Very good place for a large group, only down side was it was a little far from the village and all the activities. I knew it was like that when booking but i didn't know it was going to be traffic going into town. Clean, great kitchen, loved the Jacuzzi. I would definitely consider staying here again with a large group"
