  • Halloween Retreat

"So I will divide this into 3 parts: Booking: Since I never take vacation, the trip was researched last minute (2 days before arriving and confirming the day before). Another group requested the same cabin and Max was very accommodating. Needless to say, we booked this trip in under 24 hours with almost instantaneous responses. Stay: Upon arrival, it was very secluded, but not far from town; fully fenced-in for our dog! Everything was ready for us when we walked-in. No issues at all, tried the jacuzzi at night with the stars ( way to describe). Now it was Halloween weekend, so the entire town took all the kids and brought them on a parade getting candy and threw a mini-festival (so cool). I should mention that not only is Max's cabin dog-friendly but EVERY store/restaurant accommodates our furry family members (guest water bowl and everything). We went to the shoe store because I forgot hiking shoes and the owner insisted I bring my friend and dog in the store only to be greeted with a dog treat. Oh and slept like a baby each night in the comfy bed. Departure: Town Dump area is very close to town. We are very neat so we cleaned a little (only to be told we didn't have to haha). Left the key and were on our way home. Thank you Max!"

  • First Big Bear Trip

"A few friends and my girlfriend wanted to go to Big Bear and rent a cabin. I came across Darin's cabin, and it seemed to be perfect as far as look, number of rooms, and proximity to the slopes/lakes/restaurants. I contacted Darin with my interest in his cabin, and he was very nice and prompt in responding. The cabin itself was very nice. It is located very close to all the major hotspots and was not very difficult to find. From the outside, it looked like a cabin from a movie! Inside the cabin was very modern, but still had its cabin feel and touches. All appliances, lights, and heating worked as expected. Only a few minor things: 1. the master bedroom shower door was stuck and seemed to take too much force to open, and in fear of breaking it, we opted to share the other shower 2. The ceiling fan light in the living room was not functioning, which Darin stated to us before arriving 3. Bunk beds were very squeaky, so one of our friends decided to sleep on the couch. Besides those minor things, the cabin was perfect. We will definitely be staying there again! Thank you Darin!"

  • Great!

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Big Bear. Upon walking into the home, you see the beautiful view of the lake. The house is decorated nicely. It has a comfortable and cozy feeling. It was super clean and had everything we needed and more. We were close to where we rented a boat, close to town, and close to the hiking trail we took.We would definitely recommend staying at this lovely home."
