  • Great house for a large family get-together.

"This is a large, open house that makes for a perfect retreat. Large living room, kitchen. Nice outdoor space on the deck. Lots of parking room."

  • Perfect place to stay in Idyllwild!

"This charming house is ideally situated for a first time stay in Idyllwild. It is an easy 5-10 minute walk to the center of town which allows for convenient food shopping (a Fairway and an organic food store/cafe), access to a very good coffee house, and for browsing the local galleries and shops. Several restaurants and a take-out pizzeria are also within walking distance. Hiking trail heads are a 10-15 minute drive. The house is large, comfortable, well furnished and has a great fireplace. It is set amidst tall mature, pine trees, one of which projects up though the extensive wood deck which extends out from the back of the house and then wraps around one side with steps down to the large side yard with a path that leads to a gazebo. Out the back, the deck overlooks a babbling brook. The deck is gated and is completely fenced so that dogs (we had three with us: two toy poodles and a Brittany) can be left there safely. The entire yard is also fenced The house has a well provisioned sit-in kitchen as well as a separate dining room. The description of the house on VRBO site is accurate. The owner Loraine was timely in her responses, clear, helpful, courteous and generally a delight to deal with. I am a 70 year old retired museum curator and was traveling with my companion, Ellen, is a 59 year old lawyer. We spent four nights in the house; for two of those nights we were joined by Ellen's 24 year old nephew and his wife. A good time was had by all (including the dogs). We did not need to use the separate guest house on the property."

  • Idyllcreek A-Frame

"My wife and i had a wonderful and cozy 35th wedding anniversary staying at Kelly's vacation home! What a treat and a perfect getaway for a couple or small family! A warm fire every night added to the terrific ambiance. Although the kitchen was well equipped (great coffeemaker, per my wife), we rarely cooked because the restaurants in town were so good . . . and the people all so friendly!! Very comfortable bedding after negotiating the spiral staircase!! And such a short walk from Idyllcreek!! Going the other direction, a small drive led us to terrific trailheads to explore Lily Rock and Tahquitz Peak. We can't wait to visit Idyllwild and Idyllcreek again!!"

  • La Casita

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The interior was lovely, spacious & adequate for a family reunion of 11 ppl...a few suggestions: more towels & racks in bedrooms to hang towels since not enough space in bathrooms. Make better use of "family suite" to left of entrance w/ sleeper sofa & trundle bed. Provide more paper products; or inform guests ahead of time to bring their own supplies: garbage bags, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, etc...Eliminate all opened food products fr pantry...nobody wants other ppl's food; plus they attract ants! The dining room chairs were "rump sprung", need repair. Porch furniture was great but cushions were dirty/dusty. Landscaping needed attention; overgrown & messy. Swingset & playhouse in disrepair & dangerous for kids...Needs to be repaired or taken down all together. We mainly hiked, gathered around the fireplace, cooked gourmet meals & walked into town...we liked the Barbque/band eatery on the corner& the dog boutique."
