  • Nice & relaxing

"We had a very relaxing stay, just what we needed. Cabin had everything we needed to be couch potatoes."

  • Halloween Retreat

"So I will divide this into 3 parts: Booking: Since I never take vacation, the trip was researched last minute (2 days before arriving and confirming the day before). Another group requested the same cabin and Max was very accommodating. Needless to say, we booked this trip in under 24 hours with almost instantaneous responses. Stay: Upon arrival, it was very secluded, but not far from town; fully fenced-in for our dog! Everything was ready for us when we walked-in. No issues at all, tried the jacuzzi at night with the stars (...wow...best way to describe). Now it was Halloween weekend, so the entire town took all the kids and brought them on a parade getting candy and threw a mini-festival (so cool). I should mention that not only is Max's cabin dog-friendly but EVERY store/restaurant accommodates our furry family members (guest water bowl and everything). We went to the shoe store because I forgot hiking shoes and the owner insisted I bring my friend and dog in the store only to be greeted with a dog treat. Oh and slept like a baby each night in the comfy bed. Departure: Town Dump area is very close to town. We are very neat so we cleaned a little (only to be told we didn't have to haha). Left the key and were on our way home. Thank you Max!"

  • Perfect place to stay in Idyllwild!

"This charming house is ideally situated for a first time stay in Idyllwild. It is an easy 5-10 minute walk to the center of town which allows for convenient food shopping (a Fairway and an organic food store/cafe), access to a very good coffee house, and for browsing the local galleries and shops. Several restaurants and a take-out pizzeria are also within walking distance. Hiking trail heads are a 10-15 minute drive. The house is large, comfortable, well furnished and has a great fireplace. It is set amidst tall mature, pine trees, one of which projects up though the extensive wood deck which extends out from the back of the house and then wraps around one side with steps down to the large side yard with a path that leads to a gazebo. Out the back, the deck overlooks a babbling brook. The deck is gated and is completely fenced so that dogs (we had three with us: two toy poodles and a Brittany) can be left there safely. The entire yard is also fenced The house has a well provisioned sit-in kitchen as well as a separate dining room. The description of the house on VRBO site is accurate. The owner Loraine was timely in her responses, clear, helpful, courteous and generally a delight to deal with. I am a 70 year old retired museum curator and was traveling with my companion, Ellen, is a 59 year old lawyer. We spent four nights in the house; for two of those nights we were joined by Ellen's 24 year old nephew and his wife. A good time was had by all (including the dogs). We did not need to use the separate guest house on the property."

  • Great house for a large family get-together.

"This is a large, open house that makes for a perfect retreat. Large living room, kitchen. Nice outdoor space on the deck. Lots of parking room."
