  • Perfect place to stay in Idyllwild!

"This charming house is ideally situated for a first time stay in Idyllwild. It is an easy 5-10 minute walk to the center of town which allows for convenient food shopping (a Fairway and an organic food store/cafe), access to a very good coffee house, and for browsing the local galleries and shops. Several restaurants and a take-out pizzeria are also within walking distance. Hiking trail heads are a 10-15 minute drive. The house is large, comfortable, well furnished and has a great fireplace. It is set amidst tall mature, pine trees, one of which projects up though the extensive wood deck which extends out from the back of the house and then wraps around one side with steps down to the large side yard with a path that leads to a gazebo. Out the back, the deck overlooks a babbling brook. The deck is gated and is completely fenced so that dogs (we had three with us: two toy poodles and a Brittany) can be left there safely. The entire yard is also fenced The house has a well provisioned sit-in kitchen as well as a separate dining room. The description of the house on VRBO site is accurate. The owner Loraine was timely in her responses, clear, helpful, courteous and generally a delight to deal with. I am a 70 year old retired museum curator and was traveling with my companion, Ellen, is a 59 year old lawyer. We spent four nights in the house; for two of those nights we were joined by Ellen's 24 year old nephew and his wife. A good time was had by all (including the dogs). We did not need to use the separate guest house on the property."

  • Updated & Cozy Cabin in the Woods

"We had a wonderful stay in Max's cabin with our toddler and our dog. Max was very responsive and helpful throughout the booking experience. We found the cabin (including the wonderful yard and the pristine hot tub) to be exactly as described. The kitchen was well-equipped and everything was very clean! The wood burning stove kept the cabin toasty warm even after 6 inches of snow fell outside. We would be happy to rent from Max again!"

  • Cozy, storybook cabin

"This is a real storybook place, loaded with nice details (both construction and decor). The cabin has a ton of charm, but very well equipped and comfortable as well. We were really lucky, and it snowed, and the heat and fireplace kept us very warm and cozy. When my wife and kid walked in, they immediately loved it. The tub and shower are clean and spacious. The tub is surrounded with views of the surrounding woods, while the shower has great pressure and hot water. The kitchen has everything you need. I believe we were about a 4 minute drive from town, but you feel like you are at an escape - very peaceful, quiet and beautiful. I would say the cabin has a very warm, rustic vibe, but with all the comforts of home. The bed, and all the furniture, for that matter, were very comfortable. Can't say enough good things. We will be back. Love the town too, and you are very close to all the things it has to offer."

  • Cozy Cabin

"Exactly what Patty described it as! Comfy and clean. Kitchen had most necessary supplies. Perfect for 4. The houses in the neighborhood are located quite close to each other but the views from Patty's porch are are of the trees and hill side so when you are inside it does feel like you are "away.""
