  • WInter Wonderland ~ Splendid Squaw Suite

"Wow. We rented Martha's two adjoining units for a family ski vacation. We were three adults and one 5 year old. The photos posted do not do it justice. This is a splendid luxury hotel suite of rooms, with a 1BD King suite, plus an optional adjoining room with 2 Queen beds. Double, lockable wood doors separate the two rooms. Both rooms have full baths. Very clean. The views are truly BREATHTAKING. Our 5 year old daughter spent hours just looking out the windows. Heating is via forced air. Each unit has its own themostat. We turned it off at night but never felt cold. The place is very cozy. If you like fresh mtn air, all the rooms have sturdy openable windows that are kid-safe and let fresh air in if needed. The 1BD suite has a small, but super clean and well appointed kitchen with a 2 burner electric stove top, big microwave and standard toaster oven, plus a hotel sized fridge, which was remarkably roomy. We cooked all our own meals, and enjoyed the high quality cookware, plates, utensils and such. Everything was super clean. We have stayed in dozens of VRBO/HomeAway high-end rentals and we loved Martha's place! WiFi is free with excellent reception everywhere. The unit is on the 7th floor amongst other similar units on the long floor. There are two floors above. Elevators are down the hall. Most units appear to be hotel rooms and some appear to be privately owned. Regardless, the experience is of being in a luxury property. There is resort mall of quaint shops. Outdoor pools and hot tubs. Ice rink. A full ski rental dept (very fair rates considering) and overnight ski storage dept. Many in-house restaurants. Sledding hill. Vast fields of open snow all around for kids to play in. Front lounge is wonderful, with big comfy seats and sofas scattered throughout, with wine bar alongside, with good selection of wines. Free shuttle takes you to Squaw Valley village every 20 mins. We skied there and drove one day to Sugar Bowl as well, over the jaw-dropping Donner Pass Rd which is open year round. However, if you prefer not to drive at all, the Squaw Creek Quad Chair is right behind the resort and it gets you skiing in about 5 mins after leaving your room. Truly ski-in, ski-out. Linens were splendid. Towels were abundant. Hotel staff was very helpful and met our multiple requests nicely. Martha was very friendly and easy to work with and we felt totally taken care of from beginning to end. We are already planning our next trip and would happily stay here again."

  • Great house, great location!

"Perfect house for a family vacation. Plenty of space, great amenities, best rental house kitchen set up I've ever had the pleasure of using! The place is very close to Squaw's lifts/town, so it's really easy to get there, go back and forth if necessary, etc... We felt very lucky to be there. Great Spot :)"
