  • Fantastic Place

"We had a brief golf outing and it was a great place to stay. House was fabulous. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathrooms were large. Kitchen was outstanding with plenty of room to eat and cook. Spent most of the time outside on the patio, which was large enough to handle our party. Want to make this a yearly trip. Simple check in instructions, simple check out instructions."

  • Cutest house and great homeowner!

"This is easily one of the best rentals! Great location - quick drive to Northstar and downtown Truckee which is such a cute town! Great house - very well kept, cute cottage. It seemed like the carpeting and mattresses were recently put in because the house had a very clean feel, a big plus point for families with allergies. This house is perfect for two families vacationing. Great homeowner! - Peter is such a nice guy! He was quick in responding to all our inquiries and very approachable. We almost had to cancel our plans last minute due to kids not being well but he was very understanding. Fortunately, fever subsided and we were able to make it. Finding a nice house is one thing, but finding a house with a homeowner who seems really nice and reasonable makes a big difference in how comfortable you feel in the house you have rented. We will definitely rent again next time we are up in Tahoe!"

  • Truckee Winter Creek House

"A wonderful house. The living area is quite comfortable and the open floor plan is great for gatherings. Lovely decorating and a large L shape sofa makes it convenient for all to sit around. The master bedroom is roomy with plenty of closet space and big double dresser. The downstairs bedroom and bath was very comfortable as well. This house also has air conditioning and if there are warm days, it was terrific. We were so happy to have it. The house is so close to downtown Truckee that you could walk there if you wanted. The town is adorable. We highly recommend a stay."

  • Convenient location, great house, great value!

"We have rented in north Tahoe/Truckee many times in the winter, and this house was one of the best, especially for the price. It has a great layout with a large open space between the kitchen/dining/living area, so it easy to visit but lots of room to spread out. There are 2 bedrooms good for couples, and a "bunk" room with a bunk and a trundle plus a full bed, so you could fit 3 kids plus 2 adults or 4 kids, or even 5 kids if 2 shared the big bed. There is also a great loft area that is very separate from the rest of the house that has 4 beds, which our kids loved. They proclaimed it the "adult free" zone and spent a lot of time up there together. We also enjoyed the pool table up there. The bathrooms must have been recently remodeled, and the master bathroom had a very nice shower with 2 shower heads. It was very nice to have 2 other bathrooms in addition to the master. The hot tub was great and must be pretty new - all the nobs and controls actually work and the jets were very strong. It was only a few steps off the living area. We also took advantage of the house backing up to open space and hiked, snowshoed, and went sledding. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of dishes and all the little things you need (salt, pepper, spices, etc). We all agreed it was the best stocked, but not overstocked (leaving plenty of room for our own groceries and stuff) kitchen we had seen. It snowed over a foot one night while we were there and someone was there plowing the driveway early the next morning and came again at the end of the day after another several inches. The only complaints we had (very minor ones) were that 1) there isn't a mud room or even any closet or any hooks to hang up jackets/ski stuff if you come through the front door (which is how we mostly came and went). 2) the street in front of the house wasn't plowed for over 24 hrs, but all the other streets were, which meant having to put on chains for driving a half block to the plowed roads. This house is great for 2 families with kids. If you have younger kids, the bunk room is great, and for older kids the loft area is perfect. For the price, there were no other properties that came close to being as nice as this one. I would highly recommend it. I also think it would be great year round b/c of the proximity to open space, multiple ski resorts, town, Donner Lake, groceries."
