  • Clean & Great Views

"Our experience was wonderful. The views were amazing and the unit was cozy and accommodating for our family. Highly recommended and we will book here again next time we're in the area!"

  • One of our best vacations ever!

"This property is as close to perfect as we've ever been in. The layout is clever & functional, the location is quiet & convenient, and the view -- everyone is so spot-on; the photos don't come close to capturing how breathtakingly beautiful it is. We stayed Aug. 8-12 and the weather was so ideal we never turned on the heater or the AC. It's extremely clean and very well-kept. The second-story deck (accessible from both the dining room & living room) was the perfect spot for grilling, dining, watching the boats or stargazing, although we could also see a spotlight moon & many stars literally from our living room couch. Amazing. There's an unobstructed view of Donner Lake & the mountains on its south shores, and both boat & road traffic was pretty minimal (we stayed Mon-Fri & it was so peaceful). There are two easy-on/easy-off ramps to I-80 (one about a mile away, the other 3 or so), which is far enough away you don't hear traffic but close enough you're there quickly. Truckee is a few minutes away, and there is easy access to both the west and east shores of Tahoe. Tahoe City (30 minutes) and Kings Beach (20 minutes) are a short drive away, and the drive itself is pretty in both directions. This condo has all the amenities of home. In fact, I wish it was my home. We WILL be back."

  • Family ski house

"The Kodiak Lodge was perfect for our family ski weekend. We traveled with our three young kids, and the house made the trip so do-able and fun. Because the house is on the ski slope, my husband and I could take turns skiing with our older child while the other stayed home with the littler ones – literally watching through the panoramic windows with coffee in hand. I’ve seen ski out houses, and ski in houses, but this is truly ski out and ski in! When we weren’t taking advantage of the skiing, we were enjoying the game room or the hot tub. While the house is a little rustic in some ways, it's what you expect/want when you're in the mountains. The kitchen is well-stocked. The beds are comfortable. We’ll be back!"

  • Great family vacation

"This place was great for our family of 9 adults, 2 teenagers, 3 young boys and a 6 week old baby. 5 bedrooms were downstairs and they stayed very cool. The 6th bedroom was upstairs. It was very large, with its own bathroom and dressing area, plus beds that accommodated 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It may not have been as quiet as the downstairs bedrooms but I heard no complaints. The week we were there was hot for the Tahoe area, so the large outside deck was very welcome, but bring insect repellent. We never did use the hot tub as weather was too warm. The main living area was plenty big enough for some people to be playing games at the large table near kitchen, others to be watching TV and others to be playing pool (the pool table got a lot of use). It was a only a couple of miles to Kings Beach, and everyone enjoyed time there. Catching crawdads by the rocks was a big hit. The water was shallow for a long ways out, and it was warm, which went over big with the younger kids. The kitchen was well supplied, and there were 2 BBQ's on deck. There were no serious hikers in our group, but while walking around the neighborhood we saw access to hiking areas nearby. The house was nicely decorated with a bear theme, and there were plenty of blankets and towels. Also a large laundry room. Very enjoyable week, and I hope we can make it back there again some time."
