"This might get a little long, but when I chose to book I had a lot of questions that were not answered by the small number of previous reviews. Our trip was a mini-reunion composed of my wife and I (30s), our child, my two sisters (20s), and my Father (60s). it sounds full, but the cabin was the perfect fit with room for a couple more.
The cabin is easy to get to with enough parking for at least 3 cars (even with 30 inches of fresh snow).
Everything was clean and worked perfectly.
The front entry has plenty of storage for jackets and boots and gear.
The beds are very comfortable and the couches in the living room were just as good for post skiing naps.
The Kitchen is FULLY STOCKED with lots of counter space for prep work if you're the house chef (I am). Crock pot, waffle maker, big pans, small pans, cookie sheets, coffee grinder, coffee maker, its all there. There's an in-sink disposal and very quiet dishwasher as well.
The Dining table was plenty big for our meals and family games of UNO.
There's a nice TV next to the fire place with no cable/satellite, but a small movie collection and DVD player.
There is also cable internet, so we were able to stream some movies from netlfix as well.
We have an 18 month old, so it was great that the cabin had a Small Crib (Pack'n Play) and high chair for meals.
The Owners were very accommodating and happy to answer any questions before and after check-in. Truthfully, this made all the difference for us. I made several inquiries in the area with only one response.
We're probably sticking with Alpine Meadows for any future trips to the Tahoe Area. Its peaceful and secluded. If you're looking for nightlife and lots of restaurants, the village at Squaw Valley is only a 15 minute drive.
Things to Know:
The area has terrible cell phone reception. I was happy to turn off my phone for a week, but my father used the internet to check emails here an there. ENJOY!"
