  • Summer Weekend Getaway

"This house was perfect for a weekend getaway with a large group. The house easily accommodated our full group of 13 guys. Plenty of rooms and beds, especially for the price - easily one of the best value rentals in the area. The location is well secluded and the flowing brook on the side of the house is a nice added touch of nature. It isn't a new build modern home, but that adds to its mountain charm. The outdoor grill was easily able to handle a large BBQ, although the kitchen only sat 6 (there were two wooden benches on the front patio, but no table, so seating a large group in one area wasn't possible). What really makes this house amazing is its location. Nothing is more than a couple miles away: Safeway is less than 5 minutes away, the lake is a short and easy walk, and Stateline casinos are a short Uber ride. This house makes a perfect basecamp for all of Tahoe's many activities. Lakeview Commons down the street is a great place to get a table on the water for a picnic or to watch the sunset. Our group also rented a boat at Ski Run Marina and had an amazing time on the water before coming back and hitting up Stateline. You can really do everything conveniently from this house. Erik was always available and prompt over email, answering any questions and providing suggestions for our stay."

  • Group of 6 adults and 6 small children will DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN!

"We stayed there with 2 other families also with small children during Presidents' weekend, and it accommodated us perfectly, even with extra space. We were 6 adults, 4 toddlers, and 2 babies, and there was more than enough room. The rental listing was spot on, and what attracted me most to this rental was the close proximity to Heavenly. It said it was a block from the resort (California lodge), a 10 minute walk, and it seriously was just down the street. The cabin was a good size for us all - the upstairs' bedrooms were huge (as another reviewer also described), and the living room was quaint, but adequate enough for us where we could keep an eye on our children, still with some space to play. The kitchen was modern even with a Keurig, and K-cups were already provided. There was a bunch of stuff (spices, condiments, even alcohol in the freezer) which we assumed were left by previous renters. Very convenient, although, check the expiration on some of those things before using... The rental had everything from board games to bakeware to extra snow boots in the closets to sleds and even a snowboard in the garage for you to use, which are extra, much appreciated amenities. We did run out of toilet paper and paper towels toward the end, but Safeway is a 6 minute drive away and the casino is 4 minutes, so not that big of a deal... The other extra that we overly enjoyed was the backyard. Our kids LOVED sledding down its hill. There is a HUGE hill right beside the house on the other side of the fence which has signs prohibiting sledding, snowboarding, and skiing, but tons of people, and I don't know how they know, come by to sled down that hill. A park ranger did come out one of the days with his bullhorn escorting people off the hill - it was entertaining, but we were having fun in our own private yard... Nick, the homeowner, was quick to respond to my emails/inquiries which obviously is a plus, especially if you need to get a hold of him for some reason or another during your stay (he was fortunate we didn't need to call). Overall - the house was excellent, the service was great, the amenities were more than expected, the location was superb, and we would (WILL) definitely stay again - especially for the rate. :) Thanks!!!"

  • Great Place

"The home was much bigger than the pictures. The condo was very clean and comfortable coach. The kids loved it and it was very nice for the owner to leave drawings books and crayons. A few blocks from Heavenly and near Lake Tahoe boulevard. Very convenient and owner was quickly responsive when I had problem turning on heater. I definitely will be using this condo in the future. Best part it had a courtyard and kids were able to play in the snow."

  • Convenient and close to everything

"We stayed 5 nights during the middle of summer with 2 adults, 3 elementary school kids and 2 dogs. The cabin is a short drive to everything that South Lake Tahoe has to offer, really. That really was a big plus as the traffic in and out of South Lake Tahoe can get kind of heavy at times, especially during the weekends. The cabin itself can comfortably sleep 5 to 6 people as there were 3 full bedrooms and a futon in the living room. The cabin has everything that you would expect in a home. The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and amenities (plates, cups, utensils, storage bags, paper towels, etc.) you will ever need. The bathroom looks like it was recently remodeled and the best perk about it was the walk-in shower with the raindrop shower head. The backyard is fairly sizable as there was a gas and charcoal grill, a teeter toter, a bench, and a playhouse. The 2 bedrooms on the second floor were comfy although the stairwell leading up to the second floor was somewhat cramped. The neighborhood itself is a quiet one but you probably should bring a flashlight with you as the street does not have any streetlights. We even got to meet the neighbors across the street and their dog, Rusty. This was my first time booking thru VRBO but Rachel, the owner, made the entire process a simple and worry free experience. She always responded to my emails within 24hrs, if not sooner, and answered her phone when I needed to talk to her. Overall, I would not hesitate to book this lovely home again."
