  • Cozy, convenient

"We stayed 5 nights over Christmas with 4 adults, two children and two dogs. We were skiing at Heavenly and this location is extremely convenient for that, being located a <5 minute drive (in heavy snow) from the California lodge. There are lots of restaurants nearby on Ski Run and on 50. The Safeway is a short drive as well. KItchen is equipped with everything you need to cook meals. Storage is a bit short but between the counterspace and the refrigerator we made it work. Kitchen table seats 6 no problem could probably put 2 more there. There are board games and cards as well as Cable TV and wifi which both worked flawlessly. Wood stove puts out a LOT of heat! Nice to have a washer dryer and use of the garage as well. Sleds in the garage, we took them to Van Sickle State Park and had a good old time sledding. Neighbor came by and blew snow off the driveway. He would have done the walkway as well had I not already shoveled it. You may need chains to get out of the street onto Pioneer Trail even if you don't need them elsewhere in South Lake Tahoe. Backyard was enjoyed by the dogs. Careful with small pets there are coyotes in the neighborhood. Cabin was overall clean and comfortable. We found the couches comfy and the King bed downstairs was very nice. Decent pillows too and plenty of blankets. Only one towel for each potential guest (7 total) would have been nice to have a few "burner"towels for dog paws or whatnot but we are low maintenance so it worked for us. Having the enclosed porch to leave boots, etc. is nice. Would stay again, would have stayed again if the place were available for our next trip in Feb. Communication from Rachel is very good and I think her prices and policies are quite reasonable."

  • Great Beach Front Family Home

"If you have never been to Tahoe Meadows - you must go -- it is magical! Nestled on Highway 50 by Stateline, it is a quaint gated community of days gone by. With bonfires on Saturday night, a baseball field and 3 private beaches with docks, there is something for everyone. We were so fortunate to stay last week at Lakan Lodge. A lovely cabin of knotty pine, large rooms, and the most well-stocked kitchen in any rental we've ever stayed. The spacious downstairs master was perfect - as was the "bunk room". Upstairs another full bathroom and two queen beds. The large dining room table was perfect for those evening games we so love playing. The wind-protected outside patio was perfect for all meals - you get the lovely views without the wind. And those views - incredible!! You walk out the front door and you are right on the beach with views of all of the surrounding mountains. And all this within walking distance of the Casinos, shopping and restaurants. We would highly recommend this property and hope to enjoy it again in the future. Thank you."
