  • Great place in an excellent location.

"The house sits very close to the Heavenly ski slopes - an easy walk. It is also within a mile of down town and the casinos. The house is very comfortable and decorated in mountain cabin style. Everything you need for a relaxing family vacation is there. The owner was very accommodating and provided clear directions for check in and departure. I highly recommend this property."

  • Perfect for our Snowboarding Days!

"This property was exactly as it says in the description and more. The owner was extremely helpful, welcoming and overall great to work with. Since we came to go snowboarding at Heavenly it was the absolute best location. We could walk to the lift entrance. We actually saw people who parked further and than our location and walked. Upon checking in to the location we found a binder with great recommendations for places to go with comments from the owners. A homey cozy feeling of the property made us wish we had more days! Didn't even want to go to the casinos at night because it was so cozy! I can easily see this being a great spot in the summertime as well and see myself coming back in the future! To the owners! Thank you so much for a Wonderful Stay!!!"

  • Excellent location- great get away

"A wonderful family getaway, great location and tons to do. If you really want to unplug and get away for quality family time- this is the place! We spent each night playing games at the dining room table and telling stories in the hot tub under the stars. There are several hiking trails near by which offer breathtaking views and landscapes. Enjoy the fresh air and pine trees that South Lake Tahoe is famous for. The cabin is quaint, quiet and spacious while taking in the forest feel. Heavenly Village is just a few minutes away if you want to dine out, stroll through shops or take part in family activities such as riding the gondola to the top of the mountain. We love Heavenly Village! We will definitely be returning to SugarPine Lodge."

  • Group of 6 adults and 6 small children will DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN!

"We stayed there with 2 other families also with small children during Presidents' weekend, and it accommodated us perfectly, even with extra space. We were 6 adults, 4 toddlers, and 2 babies, and there was more than enough room. The rental listing was spot on, and what attracted me most to this rental was the close proximity to Heavenly. It said it was a block from the resort (California lodge), a 10 minute walk, and it seriously was just down the street. The cabin was a good size for us all - the upstairs' bedrooms were huge (as another reviewer also described), and the living room was quaint, but adequate enough for us where we could keep an eye on our children, still with some space to play. The kitchen was modern even with a Keurig, and K-cups were already provided. There was a bunch of stuff (spices, condiments, even alcohol in the freezer) which we assumed were left by previous renters. Very convenient, although, check the expiration on some of those things before using... The rental had everything from board games to bakeware to extra snow boots in the closets to sleds and even a snowboard in the garage for you to use, which are extra, much appreciated amenities. We did run out of toilet paper and paper towels toward the end, but Safeway is a 6 minute drive away and the casino is 4 minutes, so not that big of a deal... The other extra that we overly enjoyed was the backyard. Our kids LOVED sledding down its hill. There is a HUGE hill right beside the house on the other side of the fence which has signs prohibiting sledding, snowboarding, and skiing, but tons of people, and I don't know how they know, come by to sled down that hill. A park ranger did come out one of the days with his bullhorn escorting people off the hill - it was entertaining, but we were having fun in our own private yard... Nick, the homeowner, was quick to respond to my emails/inquiries which obviously is a plus, especially if you need to get a hold of him for some reason or another during your stay (he was fortunate we didn't need to call). Overall - the house was excellent, the service was great, the amenities were more than expected, the location was superb, and we would (WILL) definitely stay again - especially for the rate. :) Thanks!!!"
