  • Great place!

"We really enjoyed staying at this house. The location to Homewood and the General Store can't be beat. It's really nice and clean and the kitchen has everything you could need. This house would be absolutely perfect for big families because it has a 2nd living room/game room and a ton of privacy throughout the 3 levels. It was just 2 of us so we stayed on the mid-level. The double bed had 2 depressions where people sleep so I would definitely recommend upgrading that, we both had hurts backs--but could have chosen from plenty of other beds if we wanted to be away from the fireplace and hottub. The yard is enormous. I don't know how much property actually goes to this house but there's at least an acre of property behind where I can imagine it would be super perfect to sled during the winter. And it offers total privacy from the hot tub. Only bummer were the stairs and not because there were so many within 3 stories but they were so small, carpeted and open backed. I fell down the last few where the handrail stopped. Ouch. The long steep driveway was difficult for me to maneuver even with my back up camera plus it was covered in large fallen limbs so we found it safer to park on the street turnout. It looks to fit 3 cars and solved our problem. Fyi there is framing going up 2 lots down for a new house but it wasn't too noisy for us. We were surprised at the request to throw all of the bedding and towels in the wash before we left. I've rented a lot of places and I've only been asked to do a load of dishes with every rental, (weird but I get that) which we did but we did have to unload a very full wash of clean dishes left from the previous people in order to do that. I would definitely consider staying here again if we had a big group because of how nice and clean the house is and the great location."

  • Home away from Home with stunning view

"This family retreat has easy access to lake, skiing, and hiking activities. Wake up every morning to amazing views of Lake Tahoe and end every evening with star gazing from the 2nd story deck. Kids will love air hockey, pool table, and bunk beds. Beautifully updated kitchen for the aspiring chefs in the family. We would highly recommend!"

  • Fantastic value, comfortable house, great location

"This house was a real find! Cloud 9 is bigger than it appears in pictures, and there are beds for everyone. We stayed the first week of August with another family, and this house was at least as nice as most others we've rented in the past, but far more reasonably priced. The only catch is that you have to bring your own sheets and towels, but we found that wasn't really an issue, and it was nice having sheets from home. Don't forget hand towels and washcloths too. The stairs are a bit of a beast when loading all your stuff in, so prepare for a small workout. Once inside, the roomy downstairs will stun you with its large bedrooms. I was picturing tiny rooms where you'd have to walk on the bed to access the bunks. Not so - the rooms are huge, with plenty of floor room around the queen bed in the middle and the two bunks on either side. Each room would be perfect for a family of up to 6, and there are 1.5 baths on this level. Upstairs, the views will stun you. The giant wraparound deck is perfect for morning coffee or afternoon wine. The grill is very small (would be nice to upgrade it); if you plan on burgers for a big crew, it will take some time. The couches are very comfy, and the kitchen is much roomier than it appears in pictures. My husband is very picky about cooking supplies and the only thing he didn't have access to was a salad spinner. Everything else was there! And the supplies of paper towels, TP, dishwashing soap etc. were great. Tahoma is a perfect location - you can take a walk to Chamber's Landing, or a short drive to Meek's Bay or Emerald Bay. Lots of hiking for dog lovers too - go up the hill, enter the forest area, and turn left at the water tank for a nice hike. Highly recommended."
