  • Excellent rental, amazing location, responsive host

"This house is incredible. Just book it. We had a group of 17 and everyone had a bed, with one to spare! Plenty of space, massive kitchen, beautiful views from the terrace, three levels of outdoor access. Absolutely perfect. The renter was very responsive to emails and calls, and returned security deposit promptly. Would definitely rent again."

  • Can we move here?

"That was the question my family had for me for several days after we got to Cedar Ridge Lakeview. The furnishings, details, and construction of the home were top notch, and the views of Lake Tahoe, the mountains, and the surrounding area were almost indescribable! And to add to the enjoyment, the views were in constant flux.... We were actually snowed in on Sunday, March 13th. No problem.... The scenery was almost magical. We couldn't see the Lake for a while, but we knew it was out there. At one point the cable went out - we didn't worry. It was time for charades! In the main house, the views from the 2nd level living area and dining room almost looked like paintings. All three bedrooms in the main house have windows overlooking the constantly changing views of the Lake. Mornings were a delight.... My only not-even-negative comment would be that I would have liked to have had some warning about the effects of the altitude. The description of the property does alert one to the stairs, but not to the effects of the altitude on all those steps. (I came from an area 28 feet above sea level along the Texas Gulf Coast.) I would caution one that the driveway before one enters the garage is on an incline. Be careful opening the door and stepping out of a vehicle. Then there's the steps up to the apartment over the garage, then the steps up to the house. AND then the 3 levels in the main house. We learned to take it slow, drink lots of water, and not worry that we were out of shape. LOL.... Once we got to the 2nd level, the scenery made it all worth while - incredibly beautiful, just like I imagined it would be. We used the apartment (or, chalet, as my daughter referred to it after the snowfall) for my niece and her daughter who drove up from LA for a couple of days. The guys did take advantage of the pool table after my niece and her daughter left. We had several toddlers with us who decided they wanted nothing to do with the ladder to the loft, thank goodness.... We had a family dinner at West Shore Cafe on Monday, March 14th; we lucked out, it was 1/2-price entrees! Again, awesome scenery. Another day after buying groceries at the Safeway in Tahoe City, we stopped at Moe's Original BBQ - again, awesome scenic views. Another day we ended up at a local chili cook-off in Kings Beach.... I highly recommend the home. It is truly a luxury property with first-class views of the scenery and interesting places to explore."
