  • Amazing Cabin!

"The house was exactly as pictured and described. Only 10 min from Squaw, 5 minutes from rental places, grocery store etc. Great place that doesn't look like it, but can easily fit 2-3 people. Super cozy and welcoming and I look forward to renting it again this winter."

  • Good value for money

"We had a wonderful family gathering at Tahoe. The house was a good home base for our diverse group, including 3 small children under 7 and 4 young 20 something women. It was a good home base for exploring different areas on Lake Tahoe and for checking out nearby attractions including Squaw Valley and Emerald Bay & doing activities like zip-lining. We enjoyed shared dinners with the 8 adults & 3 kids living at the house and simply chilling along with 3 others of us who stayed at the Granilbakken near by. Meals were fun and dutifully delegated. The only trouble was with the oven when I tried to roast lamb and found the oven set in Sabbath mode. Long story short, the roasts finished cooking on the grill outside and were done to perfection. The other hassle was with slow wifi, particularly with many digital devices working at the same time. Lots of pine pollen, in case people suffer with allergies. Also, the 6000 ft altitude takes a little getting used to. All told, fabulous vacation and a memorable time because, ultimately, it was all about family coming together. Thank you Allee for use of your cabin in the woods."

  • Lovely cabin, great location, awesome Tahoe stay!

"My wife and I just returned from a long late-June weekend in Lake Tahoe spent at the Buckhorn Cabin, where we stayed for 3 nights. We were visiting Lake Tahoe for the first time for a "mini-moon" (following our own wedding just a couple weeks prior) but also for the destination wedding of a friend. Our time spent there did not disappoint. The cabin itself is cozy, clean and even nicer than we had anticipated, decorated in a mountain-lodge style that seemed very appropriate for the surroundings. As there were just two of us, we wanted something in a convenient location that would be large enough to accommodate a couple without sacrificing quality for space (many Tahoe-area house rentals at a similar price point offer several or many bedrooms but appear to have seen better days). The house is conveniently situated within walking distance of the lake itself, several local but tasty restaurants and an excellent gourmet market to boot. Carolyn (the owner) lives with her family just next door and was very personable and full of suggestions and recommendations based on our interests and tastes. We enjoyed several conversations with her during our stay which made the experience feel more personal but which also helped to orient us to the area. Carolyn was also accommodating of our late arrival and departure times, which we appreciated very much. While we didn't have any of our pets with us, we fell in love with her dog Bentley on first sight! We would highly recommend the Buckhorn cabin, in particular to any couple planning to visit the Lake Tahoe region."
