  • Excellent choice for a home on the road! Stop looking and book it.

"I own a special effects company and was in Hollywood for a production shoot at a nearby studio. Decided to forego a hotel for a more comfortable, convenient, quiet and "at home" experience for my extended stay. The Larchmont Character Building is a beautiful, well-maintained historic property that has four professionally managed suites situated on a very nice street. The rooms are large, well furnished and tastefully decorated and my 1,100 square foot suite had a fully equipped kitchen and full sized washer and dryer. Off street parking was a huge plus in an area where parking is sometimes challenging. The location is excellent and in close proximity to restaurants, bars, a grocery store, studios and the historic Larchmont Village shopping district. Even though I had a rental car, I walked to dinner a couple of nights when I didn't cook. Osteria Mama offered excellent Italian and the famous Lucy's El Adobe is just up the street. This place is in the heart of Hollywood if you're into all the local attractions. I'm a discriminating frequent business traveler who typically stays in 4 or 5 star hotels and this was a very welcome alternative. I just wish my wife had been along for this trip as she would have loved it. I will be a repeat customer."

  • Week end wedding in LA

"We arrived from Atlanta on Thursday for a Saturday wedding in the Silver Lake area. This studio was perfect for our needs. It was absolutely spic and span clean. It had everything needed for a short stay. The kitchen was well equipped with fridge, stove and micro oven, coffee pot, toaster, etc. I did see a variety of spices in the cabinet if one was up to a bit of fancy cooking but we ate dinners out at the several excellent and reasonable places nearby, especially the Vietnamese place. Walter left a few pages of recommended restaurants nearby which we found helpful. . Parking out front was an added convenience. My husband was in love with the modern rocking chair for reading in the room and also the privacy and comfort of the patio in the rear. The neighborhood seems totally safe and attractive and there was a new Whole Foods conveniently located one mile from the apt. We enjoyed walking the 'hood and seeing all the various residences and gardens nearby even though the streets were either uphill or down. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting LA as an alternative to a hotel with all of the privacy that came with it. We were there from Thursday until Tuesday and were well pleased with our accommodations. (We did hear the footsteps above as others had alluded to but it was not all day or all night and we took it as part of apt. living.)"

  • Awesome Location, great family get together

"This place is spacious and close to town. We were able to walk to the beach every night and enjoy the town. There was lots of condiments in the refridgerator which came in handy when we BBQ. We enjoyed the chairs and the beach. Clarence was great and let us stay until our boat left which was very helpful. Thanks for the great stay! We would definitely recommend this place."
