  • Great Location for Hollywood & the Strip

"This home is large and evokes images of Hollywood 100 years ago. You image the trees being much smaller and the neighboring homes not being built and you feel the sense of grander times in Hollywood. These are comfortable digs and the beds were great! The kitchen has all the essentials, fresh towels in the bathrooms and the house was neat and orderly. Being a 1920's home she shows some of her age. The hardwood floors are a bit sloped here and there but in my opinion this added to the charm! We were two couples staying for 3 nights to catch a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, which is an easy walk from here. The Hollywood Bowl Overlook is about a 7 min. drive which gives you great views of the Hollywood sign and LA. The home is situated in what we felt was a very safe neighborhood, even walking at night. Coming from Vancouver, maybe I'm a bit naive however we never had any safety concerns and we chatted with a few neighbors out on the street. The neighbor next door allowed us to park at his place, while housekeeping used the washer/dryer in the garage. BELIEVE the parking comments! We had a Ford Explorer and I can say that a confident Canadian driver can park it in the garage but not without a lot of effort, a person outside watching each maneuver and tucking in the mirrors. Do yourself a favor and go with the smaller vehicle. Kevin was easy to contact and very responsive to our questions and also provided excellent instructions for entering and leaving the home. Thanks for having us in your home Kevin!"

  • Week end wedding in LA

"We arrived from Atlanta on Thursday for a Saturday wedding in the Silver Lake area. This studio was perfect for our needs. It was absolutely spic and span clean. It had everything needed for a short stay. The kitchen was well equipped with fridge, stove and micro oven, coffee pot, toaster, etc. I did see a variety of spices in the cabinet if one was up to a bit of fancy cooking but we ate dinners out at the several excellent and reasonable places nearby, especially the Vietnamese place. Walter left a few pages of recommended restaurants nearby which we found helpful. . Parking out front was an added convenience. My husband was in love with the modern rocking chair for reading in the room and also the privacy and comfort of the patio in the rear. The neighborhood seems totally safe and attractive and there was a new Whole Foods conveniently located one mile from the apt. We enjoyed walking the 'hood and seeing all the various residences and gardens nearby even though the streets were either uphill or down. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting LA as an alternative to a hotel with all of the privacy that came with it. We were there from Thursday until Tuesday and were well pleased with our accommodations. (We did hear the footsteps above as others had alluded to but it was not all day or all night and we took it as part of apt. living.)"
