  • Overall, a nice place to stay

"My husband and I stayed 5 nights at the Amoroso Retreat over Labor Day Weekend. Overall, it was a nice little place to stay. It was close to the beach and that was a big plus. They also have two cruiser bikes that you can rent for a week at $30/each and, that was a huge plus for us. Santa Monica has a great bike path/lane system and we were able to ride on one trail for miles along the beach front all the way down to Manhattan Beach and beyond throughout our stay. The only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars is because it was very sparsely equipped with basic supplies in the kitchen. There was salt and pepper, but nothing else such as cooking spray or a decent spatula for cooking eggs and such. Also, they didn't provide even one bar of soap for use in the tub/shower. All that being said, we would definitely stay in the Amoroso Retreat again. We would just come a little better prepared in the future."

  • Large and super clean Venice Beach House

"We stayed in the house for a month as part of our USA trip. Being a young family with two boys the house met all our needs. Location: litterally 3 minutes easy walk to the beach. On your way to the beach you see bars, restaurants, coffee shops, surf shops, convenience stores, beauty salon, florist.... Just perfect. And all of the kind that are so much better then the ones in downtown/boardwalk Venice. Also just 1 minute to famous canals, great for an evening walk. The fabulous Abbot Kinney is a 15 minute walk, or: Uber. For a few dollars Uber takes you everywhere, we used it all the time. Large supermarkets, CVS etc are close too. Finally driving to other locations is easy as Washington/venice/Lincoln Blvds are very close. The only con about the location: traffic noise. The back of the house is most affected (with two bedrooms). But ine may expect this anywhere in Venice/Santa Monica. It was OK for us. The house itself is large, extremely well finished/built and very important to us: super clean. Good to mention that it has 2 bedrooms. The extra third room was perfect for our youngest who sleeps in a travel cot. But there's no extra bed in there. It has all the tools and items you need for a long stay. The many terraces ensire you always have a place in either shade or sun. Although we did miss outdoor dining table/chairs... Owner Michael ismperhaps the best 'feature'. He's there immediatly when needed, responds direct to questions etc. He goed way beyond what may be expected. He made our stay extra special. We have nothing but praise for this house. It's not cheap, but if you have the money then this is the place to stay in Venice."

  • Location, location, location!

"We loved the location in the heart of Venice Beach. We were pleasantly surprised how close we were to the sand! The house was perfect for our family. Room for everyone. The air conditioning was a godsend. We loved the rooftop deck and used it more than we thought we would. The owners are very attentive. The home has the usual wear and tear of a beach house - but nothing that got in our way of having a great time!"
