  • Luxury, seclusion and great location

"This is a lovely and spacious 1-BR separate guesthouse with a large deck, and in a great neighborhood in Santa Monica. It has comfortable furnishings, an impressive photo collection, and all the amenities, including wi-fi, TV, a great video library and music streaming. It is upstairs over a separate garage, clean and light-filled. The stairs are a bit steep, if you have a mobility problem, but we found them not an obstacle. We rented it for a long weekend to celebrate our daughter's grad school graduation, and with the owner's permission had a small 20+ person gathering in the afternoon. It was a great venue, and he was very helpful with getting our guests extra parking passes for the day. Our host was very welcoming; his guestbook is thorough and offers good suggestions of places to visit and where to eat. The property is a short drive from the Montana Avenue boutiques and restaurants. Also nearby are the Santa Monica bluffs trail, and there are many nearby walking and running paths in the neighborhood. It is an easy drive to westside attractions and UCLA. We would highly recommend to friends, relatives and couples seeking a refined, private atmosphere in a terrific location. And, yes, views of the ocean."

  • Basic but good

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was exactly as described, clean, no frills. Very easy check-in process. Walls were a little thin and could hear neighbors. Front patio not as private as advertised. Would have liked more towels provided."

  • Perfect Long Beach Vacation!

"My family was in Long Beach for a dance convention. My older daughter and I would go to the dance convention each day while my husband and younger daughter would enjoy checking out Long Beach or playing on the beach in front of the condo. The condo was immaculate! It was SO clean, fresh and cool when we arrived! Air conditioning throughout was a major bonus although it was never oppressively hot out. The room darkening shades in the bedrooms made it easy for us to sleep well every night (which says a lot for a family coming from the mountains with NO neighbors, lots of dark and quiet). Street noise was not bothersome or noticeable to this mountain gal or my kids! The condo was well stocked with kitchen supplies (even tupperware and ziplocs!), beach towels, beach toys, beach chairs, beach umbrella, bath towels and hairdryers!! The view was unbeatable and we enjoyed having morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the beach. I saw other comments that the bathrooms need updating, but I guess I'm old school~I find the features in the baths charming and a statement to the character of when the building was built. Plus, you can tell the owners are working their way through updates throughout the unit and I wouldn't be surprised if bathroom remodels were coming sometime in the future. I, for one, was just fine with the bathrooms as they were very clean, had lots of towels and washcloths, and hairdryers. Mark and Lorrie were a joy to work with. Mark walked us through everything we needed to know at check in and really made sure we "got it" in concerns to parking, key codes, and helping maintain the building and our unit. The added bonus of laundry detergent and quarters for your first load was huge since we had just come from Disneyland and had lots of laundry to do. Mark also gave us some great restaurant and activity recommendations. Dinner at King's Fish House was a highlight. I went on several walks and always felt safe on the beach bath and around town. Lorrie was helpful and responsive to any questions or requests we had and I loved how quickly she always got back to me. With a great location on the beach, awesome amenities throughout, close to the convention center in a vivacious town at such a great price we are looking forward to coming back!!"

  • Wonderful views and a house full of light and good energy.

"Just arrived home from a wonderful month in this super house. We will so miss our time in LA and our stay in this lovely house. We enjoyed everything about it. We arrived in the dark and thought the sight of the twinkling lights of the city below us from our windows were fantastic enough, but waking up to the sight of the Hollywood sign and the Observatory took our breath away. We even enjoyed our food shopping trips to Gelson's and Trader Joes. Everything is so convenient here, all the usual LA tourist spots, places to eat and shop (great shopping Malls). Wish we stayed longer. Felt like home from home. So want to come back next year. You wont be disappointed!"
