  • Absolutely perfect!

"Our family of four (kids aged 10 and 13) stayed in this lovely home for a week while visiting nearby relatives, and we could not have been happier or more comfortable. Pre-arrival, Abigail was an extremely prompt and helpful correspondent, making sure that the arrangements were taken care of quickly and efficiently. She also provided us with clearly written and exhaustively detailed documentation about every aspect of the house - including spot-on advice about neighborhood restaurants, stores, etc. The house is located on a quiet side-street off of a major crosstown artery, perfectly located for any westside activities and providing easy access to destinations beyond, with many amenities within ridiculously easy walking distance (no small thing in LA!) and the rest no more than a few minutes' drive away. Upon arriving, we knew we had struck gold: A front yard beautifully landscaped with succulents; an equally beautiful courtyard with a fire pit, fountain, and hammocks. And the house itself completely surpassed our expectations - as several other commenters have mentioned, it is even lovelier than the very lovely pictures would suggest. The kitchen/dining area is absolutely amazing - spacious and inviting, and stocked with everything a serious cook could possibly want. The living room is stylish and cozy, with a terrific projection system and pull-down screen for watching films (NB: there's no TV; not a problem for us, but could be for some), as well as a high-end electronic piano -- much appreciated by my wife, a professional musician. The bedrooms are large, with ample storage space and shockingly comfortable beds (we were all a little sorry to leave those behind!). The master bath is terrific - bright and airy, with a deep claw-foot tub and a "rain shower" - and the smaller baths were just as pleasant. And the entire house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The backyard is lovely, as well - we were desperately hoping to take advantage of the large and deep pool, the hot tub, and the very comfortable-looking seating area - but alas, it was a bit too chilly. Best of all, for us: the entire time, we were very much aware that we were not in just a house, but a home, filled with warmth and graciousness, and alive with the Saguy family's personality; though we've never met, it was more like staying at the home of close friends than at a rental property. Every time we opened the front door, it felt like coming home. We'll be back!"

  • Prime Hollywood Hills View!

"This was my first experience at renting a home thru VRBO and I was not disappointed one bit. I had obsessively poured through hundreds of places but kept coming back to this house and am very happy that I went with this one! Very clean when we arrived and great instructions on how to get in house. Great size of home including a large kitchen that is stocked with everything you need to cook and a great patio/deck to see the fabulous jaw dropping views! Comfortable beds and relaxing atmosphere. Loved having a garage. We visited LA just to see the sites and found that this house was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. Would definitely rent this house again!"

  • Lovely and Immaculate Getaway!

"This was a lovely place to spend our weekend. We live in Bakersfield, where it is often 100+ degrees in the summer, so it was nice to drive a short hour and a half to be in cooler weather. This mountain home offers all of the amenities you would ever need. Our kids (7 and 8 years old) loved all of the wildlife in the area. The Blue Jays (or were they Scrub Jays or Stellar Jays? lol) were very cute and we all enjoyed feeding them peanuts (another wonderful amenity). We saw Quail, squirrels, and bunnies all around the home. This place is in exquisite condition and exceptionally clean. Our kids enjoyed watching some of the movies provided (Ghostbusters and The Jungle Book), and we had fun swimming at the PMC facilities (even another amenity offered!). This mountain home is located just a couple miles from the PMC facilities and the Village, where we enjoyed some great food in the local restaurants (Mexican food, pizza, and Italian). The deck is a great place for stargazing and enjoying fresh air. Thank you, Lori and Tim, for sharing your wonderful home We will definitely be back!"

  • Great location

"We were attending a conference at the convention center and what a great commute! It was only a 10-15 min walk along the sidewalk on the beach! Other things are a short drive away, although we found a donut shop within walking distance. We had our 2 beach bum kids under 10 with us and the beach was just great. The place was clean and is a lot bigger than it looks in the photos; lots of extra amenities (laundry stuff, popcorn, reusable grocery bags etc). Would have been nice to have some takeout menus of good places but we found some on yelp (highly recommend burgers from MVP Grill and breakfast at The Breakfast Bar). The bedrooms did get stuffy at nite - it was too noisy to open the side windows (beach front windows only) and the bathrooms could use a serious update. The parking is very tight but that's better than no parking at all (necessary at this place). We'd rent again if we were ever in Long Beach."
