  • June in Manhattan Beach

"We were very fortunate to be able to stay in this spacious studio while visiting family in the area. The space was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Our hosts were very accommodating - allowing us the use of beach cruisers, beach chairs and umbrella...and garage space! Literally on the beach & good restaurants nearby. We have stayed in many VRBO properties, and this was one of the best!"

  • Perfect!

"Nanette was awesome. The pictures here are exactly what you get. Check-in was simple. The place was spotless. But the location!... perfect!. Right on the strand. Walking distance to the ChartHouse if you want a fancy meal, and even closer to Nick's deli, which my kids went to daily. Watch the junior lifeguards, volleyball players, paddleboarders and surfers from the roof or balcony. We walked to a stand up paddle board rental place and even rode bikes to Venice Beach. I only needed to text Nanette once with a question and she responded instantly. Talking to her on the phone, I felt like I have known her forever, a real sweetheart. Thanks again for a great vacation."

  • Perfect Venice Getaway

"We spent a week in this delightful studio and felt we'd lived there our entire lives. Cozy, comfortable and light-filled, the apartment was the perfect setting for a relaxing stay in Venice. It was clean, secure, beautifully decorated, and furnished with all the amenities necessary for a short stay. The proximity to essentials (Wholefoods, CVS, Laundromat) meant we could spend more time strolling around the area and surrounding beaches. There are so many great places to dine and go out within a half hour walk (or 10 minute Uber). I would definitely recommend this property!"

  • Great place for the right travelers

"I spent a 3-day weekend here with friends from work so we could watch the Dodgers play the Cubs and see the sights. We liked this house, and the location in the Hollywood Hills is perfect: authentic old Hollywood on a quiet very narrow winding street that feels European, yet very close to the most famous attractions that all the tourists want to see. The home is set into the hill (like all the houses around it) with the living areas above at street level and the bedrooms and bathroom below. There's also a small but convenient water closet off the front hallway. Lots of bonuses about this place beyond the location: a small covered patio and large gated courtyard shared with the adjoining unit (vacant during our weekend), a huge dining room and living room to spread out in, and a picture window in the living room looking out at the hills. This place would be comfortable for three couples, not just three people, if you are okay with sharing one bathroom. Each bedroom is good-sized with closet space and has a nice bed and an individual window AC unit to keep you cool if it happens to be hot outside. 2 bedrooms have flat screen TVs. This place has a lot of character, such as a narrow winding staircase, original woodwork and some original fixtures, etc. You feel as if you might run into William Holden if you walk down to Sunset Boulevard. We did walk down there, which was about 20 minutes (Hollywood Boulevard is closer) but the last part of the walk back is all uphill! The owner will consider allowing a small housebroken dog. I brought mine and it was pleasant and a little awe inspiring to walk with her through the amazing nearby neighborhoods. Lots of friendly dog walkers around. The drawbacks are that there is only one full bathroom, the parking garage space is very small, and some light switches don't seem to turn on any lights. We had two cars and used the garage and the visitor parking permit very handy! Bring your mini-Cooper or other small car if you want to garage it! I was lucky enough to find street spaces nearby every day. This neighborhood went up in the era before people had two cars or big cars. The furniture is outdated and mismatched but comfortable and clean. Bathroom is outdated, possibly original, but clean and functional. If you like new condos and wide streets, consider another place, but if you like character and charm this is great. The best part about this place is the Hollywood vibe."
