  • Oasis in the desert!

"Rancho Loco is an amazing oasis in the desert! My family of three went with another family of four over a long weekend and had such a great time here. It’s not too far from Los Angeles where we live, just a little further than Palm Springs. First off, it’s located a few minutes north of the town of Joshua Tree. We brought a cooler of food, but if you need anything there's a Walmart and other grocery options about 13 mins away on the 62. There’s also some small shops and restaurants (Crossroads Cafe yum!), and the National Park entrance is right around the corner. (The National Park is definitely not to be missed if you visit—just bring lots of water!) Back to the Rancho Loco—The property is very large and very private as the nearest neighbor is far off in the distance. The main house has the kitchen (stove/oven, small microwave, regular sized fridge, coffeemaker, etc), and large open family room which includes dining area with a big table that would seat at least 10-12. The rest of the family room is quite a comfortable place to hang out and talk, play games, etc. There’s lots of windows and lots of light coming in, and you can enjoy the beautiful desert and and mountain views. There’s a main bedroom which we didn’t stay in but had two beds (a queen and a futon) and a bathroom. Across the side is the guest house, which looks like a converted small barn. There’s a loft with a queen bed, and downstairs a picnic table, living area and single sofa beds. There’s a door which takes you to the laundry room and bathroom. There’s a small refrigerator in there too. It must be said that both houses on the property are both utilitarian and neatly designed. You can tell the owners have put a lot of love into this place. Swamp coolers and fans did a fine cooling job in both houses in 100 degree heat. Everybody was very comfortable. In between the houses is the pool area. They have a salt water pool which is so refreshing. There’s a nice seating area under shade too, and you can put music on the stereo system in the main house and listen outside, which was a really nice touch. There’s also a grill you can use. Then you realize as you watch the sun setting behind the purple mountains, with a beer in the hand, friends and family on your side, that Rancho Loco is a special place, and you wish the weekend wouldn’t end."

  • Great location, spacious place for a large family

"We enjoyed our time here, the house had more then we thought, next time I will pack lighter.there were a few miner details but Lea responded immediately and took care of immediately as well.I would recommend this place, cozy we felt right at home.It was in a nice location close to stores if anything was needed.I can't wait to book my next trip.I do think that for the price they charge for cleaning,I would have thought it would be more cleaner. It could use a deep clean, looks like cleaning crew just does the basic. But overall ,would recommend this place.House had wifi, cable tv .Beds were super comfy.Thank you"

  • Awesome Place!

"We brought our family up for a reunion and loved this place. After having a busy day in town it's nice to get away from it all in this beautiful 3 story cabin. Plenty of room for everyone to escape and have their own space. All the appliances, spa and bbq worked perfectly. We have rented many cabins and I was very impressed with how clean this place was. It was everything we hoped for and more. We hope to return again soon."

  • Live Like an Ocean Beach Local

"This classic beach cottage really gives you the true feeling of being a part of one of the coolest little beach communities I have ever been to. The neighbors are all extremely nice and the landlord was an excellent communicator throughout the entire trip with plenty of suggestions for entertainment options when I asked.. The house was cozy as can be with an outdoor shower and a relaxing deck that we spent most of our mornings on after jumping in the ocean at the secluded beach at the end of the block, less than ¼ mile away. Sunset Cliffs Natural Park begins two blocks away where we found a seemingly endless number of trails to choose from as well as plenty of beautiful beaches and cliffs to enjoy. We spent a lot of time checking out the locally owned shops, restaurants, and bars. These businesses are the heart of this unique beach town and there is no shortage of fun to be had. Although we never really felt a need to leave the neighborhood, this location is 10 minutes from most San Diego attractions. Whether you want to go downtown to the Gas Lamp District, Sea World, or the many tourist filled beaches to the north, it’s never a far drive. I’m looking forward to booking this trip again, living in Vegas makes me miss the beach life, however, all I have to do is check in here and I’m instantly feeling like an Ocean Beach local all over again. My favorite places included: BBQ House Pizza Port Nico's Mexican Food Cotija's (Try the fish tacos) South Beach (Taco Tuesday is awesome here) Cafe Bella Spend some time in this town and I know you will find some personal favorites of your own. :)"
