  • Excellent Experience / Exactly what we needed.

"We have nothing but good things to say about this house and its owners. Since this was the first time using a VRBO home, we were a bit nervous about how the process worked. All we can say is that Carol and Ron were great to work with. We spent about a week in this home with absolutely no problems. The house was a very nice home one block from the coast in a very nice/quiet neighborhood. We can't wait to come back next year!"

  • Wonderful cabin in the pines

"Nice get-a-way in the summer, the cabin was clean & comfortable. Great location for touring the area. We enjoyed our stay & John the owner was easy to work with. Got to meet Cristina & her family ( the property manager ) who was very helpful & friendly during our stay. Would love to visit the area again in the winter and would recommend staying at this Big Bear property."

  • Stunning Malibu Property

"I travel to Malibu for vacation in August typically every year. I also try to stay at new unique houses each time I go. Villa Calcare was absolutely beautiful. The property has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The pool and hot tub are amazing and the views are great from every room. The bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of room and each bathroom with the exception of one has a great shower with built-in sauna. This is the ideal vacation house to rent in Malibu if you have 5 or more guests or a large family. The in-house movie theater with reclining leather seats was another great touch. Access to broad beach is also less than 5 minutes away and is within walking distance. Lastly, if you like to cook, the kitchen has everything you will need and is decked out with a Viking gas range and Viking refrigerator. There is also an outdoor grill at the pool. If you are planning on dining out, there are plenty of restaurants within a 10-15 minute radius. It's difficult to criticize anything about this property, but in the interest of providing the best review I can, I will list some things that others may wish to know. The downside of being literally right off PCH is that you *will* hear traffic in the morning. It can be heard from every room and there is nothing you can do about that if you are a light sleeper. Also, if you like to sleep in on vacation, don't anticipate sleeping past 8 am. There are no blackout curtains and the drapes are very light and easily allow the sun to brighten every room in the morning. These were really the only things that were an issue for me during my stay."

  • So close to everything!

"We have been vacationing in SD for the past 12 years, the last 10 of which we camped. After our stay here I don't see camping in SD in my future. I was very skeptical about renting someone's house but, the Hohe's made everything so easy. Our request for reservations was answered the same day and any questions or concerns I had were promptly addressed. The home has had a lot of updating and they recently installed air conditioning for their guest's comfort. We didn't use it once! We just left the windows open and let the breeze come in. The ability to hear the ocean from the home was also a big plus. The fridge and cupboards are stocked with several items but there are so many fantastic places to eat within a 5 min walk or short bike ride. If you like fish tacos and civiche you need to try Oscars on Emerald. My new fav place for fish tacos! Outside there is a huge shed with everything you would ever need for your beach vacation. Chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards, surf boards and a wagon to haul it all in. There's several bikes with locks and also helmets. Really. You don't need to bring a thing! There's even beach towels in the house. Steve and Karron are wonderful people. If you need anything they are there to help. Even with surfing tips! Their place is perfect and we've already been making plans for next year! The only bad thing I can say about Hohe House is that it's not mine! P.S. Saved and image of our dogs in profile pic for you. Hope it saved properly and is large enough to see them."
