  • Couldn't be better!

"The pictures don't do this home justice...the deck has been redone and is beautiful, the furniture is also upgraded and when they said it's stocked, they weren't kidding! I took advantage of the spices, olive oil and paper plates and napkins-I truly felt as if the house belongs to a close friend, and the owners brother even came to refill both propane tanks on the barbecue when I called to inquire. I am looking forward to hopefully staying again next summer-thank you so much for a incredibly relaxing, perfect week!"

  • Stunning Location - Hidden Gem!

"We recently had a wonderful stay here. Stephen and Sabine were wonderful hosts - helpful, friendly and willing to provide great suggestions for things to do, wineries and restaurants. The location is beautiful, the patio views alone should be enough to make you want to stay here. We enjoyed several evenings watching the local deer walking around the property, whilst the sun set. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and there are a lot of great, unique details around the space. The location is a 25 minute walk to downtown Napa. This is a wonderful, peaceful walk which we did every morning with our dog to get coffee. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and the scenery is stunning. Its exceptionally easy to get around from this location- we used our own car and ubers during the weekend. The inside of the property is furnished beautifully with mid century furniture, great art and some great unique details. Its fully equipped with everything you need for a stay and the kitchen is fully stocked if you plan to cook like we did. Its a well maintained, exceptionally clean and very comfortable space. We had such a wonderful time at this location. Our friends who were staying nearby at a hotel came by, and are already planning a trip back so they can rent this location. Dont be put off with the location not being directly downtown, this is a hidden gem! I cant rate this place highly enough, we cant wait to go back!"

  • 5 Star View but Lacking Luxury Inside

"The view was so incredible, it takes your breath away! Access to the balcony from both bedrooms and living area with nice high top tables and chairs and sitting chairs. Plenty of seating for more than 4. We selected this condo based on reviews so renter beware! It is not what I would consider luxury. I get banged up furniture in a rental, but the chairs in the living room are very uncomfortable, the kitchen lighting is poor and it is not well supplied and the hall bathroom is the only one with a shower (this is mentioned in the description but easily overlooked). There were many other minor inconveniences and a terrible smell in the kitchen from the garbage disposal, but the location, wonderful beds, large flat screens in both bedroom and living area, coupled with the view made those things tolerable. I would definitely recommend this area (Hamilton Cove) but unless I knew for sure the owner had taken care of some of the problems I would not rent this unit again. Having a golf cart there is a wonderful amenity ( we went into town daily and cab fare would have really added up) as we found out they rented for $40 an hour! They are very fun to get around in, and golf carts are the main transportation for the island. Hamilton Cove has a small pool and hot tub and tennis courts, even a small beach area. We loved Catalina Island and will go back."

  • perfect spot for a family get together

"We rented the house along with the cabins on Monastary beach for a family get together for 20. We found the arrangement perfect. My one concern about the house was the remote location. It is rather remote, but we found that to be a plus not a minus. It takes perhaps 10-15 minutes to get into carmel, not a big deal really. The house itself is set up perfectly for a family get together with a couple of great patio spaces, a big BBQ and a million dollar view of the sea and carmel. We had four couples staying in the house and each had what amounted to a master suite for themselves....we cooked ourselves most nights and the kitchen had everything you could possibly want included. this was certainly a high end luxury rental experience. Overall I think the actual unit Is in fact much nicer than the pictures provided on the VRBO site."
