  • Much needed getaway!

"My husband and I had a great stay at Driftwood with our two little girls. There was a spacious front and backyard for the kids to play in. The owner was easy to work with and made it a breeze. Everything in the home was easy to find and well labeled. The water filter in the kitchen was a bonus, as we did not need bottled water during our visit. The girls loved the rope swing and tetherball in the front yard. There was plenty for them to do at the house without bringing anything from home. Although the caretaker lives on the property we never saw her once so it felt very private. We only did the trip to the beach once as the walk was pretty long, and the climb over the driftwood to get the beach itself was a bit much for us. With that said the beaches in the area were really fun as there is a ton of driftwood on every beach in the area, and our kids had a blast building at every beach we explored during our visit. We went to Manchester Beach, Irish Beach, the Point Arena lighthouse, and some other places with coastal access. We checked out the towns in both directions. We did laundry once at the Wash House in Anchor Bay. Our favorite spot for dinner was Bridget Dolan's Pub in Elk. The Elk Store makes great sandwiches, and we did a few picnics with those. The breakfast we had at Circa 62 in Little River was well worth the drive. We went into Fort Bragg and had fish and chips and chowder at Sea Pal Cove. Manchester seems to have more fog that some of the surrounding areas, but we had a great time staying here. Although we prefer a property with easier/closer beach access, I have to say the view from the property was amazing. Overall, a wonderful vacation house that I would definitely recommend to others.."

  • Incredible Views and an Amazing Home!

"Let me begin by saying that the pictures in VRBO of this home do not truly show you how incredible this home is and the spectacular views! Bob and Lynda truly spared NO EXPENSE when they remodeled the home completely. Everything was great. My family and I loved our vacation here and we can't wait until we come back. Thank you Lynda and Bob for sharing your amazing home with us!"

  • An Amazing Value!

"My family stayed here during a completely remarkable lucky streak of amazing weather! We have never been able to stay at a place with such incredible views. I really cannot say enough about the magnificence of these vistas! The cabin is modest which makes it affordable, but you really and truly have everything you need to have an amazing time. One of the coolest parts of this place is that it is so close to the steep drive down to the beach. Just about all of the other homes on Irish Beach have a bit a of trek...not Grandma's cottage! There are incredibly cool long term forts down on the beach as well. The tide pools are marvelous and the owner even include a fantastic lamenated booklet in the cottage to help you identify the critters you will find there. Communicating with Jennifer was a dream. The ooooonly thing that holds back a five star rating are the mattresses in the cabin. They are perhaps older and not comfortable. I am a light sleeper so it was kind of a big deal for me. I tried all three of them out and none were good. My husband and son slept just fine. I will bring a few roles of temperpedic bedding next time, because I truly love this home."
