  • Great Quiet location but close to town

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our first time at Chapman Point Cottage but we've stayed at other nearby properties before. The team at Mendocino Preferred was great with special touches for our anniversary. The Cottage is very spacious with plenty of space for the two of us, and nicely located at the end of a private road. It is behind the larger Chapman Point House so you don't really have a direct view of the ocean but you can hear it. The location is directly adjacent to the Spring Ranch extension to Van Damme State Park which is wonderful for hiking."

  • Wonderful, secluded hide-away in the woods!

"This house was wonderful. It's hard to find though. Directions are minimal. Stay right at all forks and you'll get there. It's at the top of a mountain, surrounded by trees. Loved sitting out in the garden for coffee. Loved the outdoor shower in the sun. Loved the hot tub under the stars at night. Think I heard the echo of sea lions. Very close, easy drive to the beach and the town of Gualala. Really nice, comfortable stay."

  • Relaxing and Peaceful family getaway

"Our family of 5 and our dog, wanted to have a short vacation away from the busy bay area. We always travel with Grandparents, cousins, friends and realized we haven’t had a family vacation with just US for years! This property was better than I expected from their website. The quite neighborhood it is situated in was beautiful. We woke every morning (4 day stay) to walk our pup among tons of deer grazing in the yard and across the street, you could hear and see the beautiful Pacific, and the vibe was just so relaxing. The house is furnished very tastefully, and the kitchen was well stocked. The soft linens on the bed were extremely comfortable and we all slept so well. We spent lazy days hanging on the porch bbqing, in the hot tub, kids relaxing in the nice open, large living room by the fire playing games. At night we watched movies from their huge stash of DVD’s. We brought our telescope that was given to my oldest son as a gift and have not been able to use it yet. It was amazing for star gazing. Even without the telescope the kids have never seen so many stars. Irish Beach is spectacular with tons of drift wood that the kids built a little house out of, and we saw maybe two other people the whole day we spent there. Short drive to Fort Bragg to take kids on a quick train trip. We shopped at the local grocery store in town for most of our meals. It was nice they had a washer and dryer in the house. My 12, 7 and 5 year old had the best time and did not want to leave. It is amazing how just getting out of your home and element can be really great for the family. The kids all got along so well this weekend, and there was no video games, iPhones to play with, cartoons, toys littering the floor. It was just us. It was magical! One evening we were all on the back deck and a ton of donkeys came running down the hill to us! It was hilarious and awesome for the kids. They let us pet them, and we feed them some celery (hope that was okay). We felt at home and comfortable. It was JUST what our little family needed to recharge the batteries of our busy day to day life. I don’t think we looked at the time once! Ahhhh… I can’t wait to go back next year. Thank you Alex and Cathy for taking such good care of this property. The love you have for it shows and we can’t WAIT to return next year and make this an annual trip for our family. Just a wonderful time!!!!"
