  • Great Getaway

"After a long and winding ride we arrived at Shalimere ready to just relax. It met all our expectations and then some. The home has everything you need for cooking, relaxing and just hanging out. It's a very comfortable home with a great view. Very peaceful. We had some problems with the furnace (which Lori is dealing with) but the wonderful soapstone fireplace kept us toasty and warm. We would definitely come back , especially if we could spend more time. The coastline is spectacular. Lori is a very responsive and caring hostess."

  • Great vacation rental!

"I celebrated my birthday here with a few friends, and it was perfect for our group of 7! The home is well-stocked with plenty of towels, linens, and kitchenware. There's a closet full of games & puzzles too. There were instructions posted for everything, so we didn't have to bother our host at all. Would love to stay again someday!"

  • Fantastic views

"Perfect for 4. Loved separate room with fireplace and hot tub overlooking the ocean. Property was clean. Appliances are dated but they all worked. Location is a little remote so this works best if you like to walk the beach and stay in and cook. Experiencing sunrise and sunset is the best. Very relaxing."

  • Excellent - Coastal residence and authentic coastal town

"My daughter and I stayed at this lovely comfortable residence in Point Arena. The town of Point Arena on the coast of northern California is worth a visit and worth driving along Hwy 1, even given the craziness of that road to see what I believe to be an authentic coastal California town. Embedded in the fishing and dairy industry it has a quality of a real town, not solely for tourists but for people living and working in the area - a wonderful community garden, several good restaurants and bakeries, some hole in the wall bars (great places for an afternoon winter drink), and lovely homes with chickens, goats and pets. We loved staying at this property, along with our puppy Pearl. It was comfortable, well stocked kitchen, space enough for dog and daughter, beautiful yard and surrounding hills and close to gorgeous beaches, trails and walks. Particularly enjoyed the harbor at Pt. Arena. We could not have asked for more; the visit was relaxing and comfortable - the weather ok for December. Thank you!"
