  • Fantastic!

"Our young family of four loved every minute of our stay in this enchanting Mendocino garden cottage. It doesn't get any more charming than this. We'd return in a heartbeat. Many thanks to our host. We had a fantastic weekend! Things to know: - We knew in advance because I read all the reviews, but sleeping quarters and living space (kitchen, dining, living room) are in two separate buildings. Cool! - We didn't dine out much with our two little boys, but the GoodLife Cafe on Lansing St was so great for lunch we went back again! - Garden lovers visiting the area for Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden, be sure to make a trip to Digging Dog Nursery in Albion - it's incredible. - Cottage location in town is perfect."

  • Great Place for a Large Group

"This house was perfect for our group of 4 couples in Mendocino to a birthday. A great open plan living, dining, kitchen was perfect for entertaining. The 4 Bedrooms were separated, two on each side of the house. A pool table room was a fun thing to have. The location was secluded, a nice fenced back yard for our dog with a hot tub, and views of the ocean all around. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Located a mile from Mendocino and just a few from Ft.Bragg was great. Kim the owner was very easy to work with and she even recommended a local chef to come a cook a wonderful dinner for us on the birthday night. My only complaint was that check in was not until 5pm which seemed late. We will definitely will be going back!"

  • Breathtaking House

"This is house a word is breathtaking. Not only can I not wait to go back, but when I shared family pictures with friends, they all asked me where they could rent this house too. It's worth staying there for the Solarium alone. A wall of windows overlooking the waves crashing into the bluffs, but shielded from the strong winds and chilly air. The deck is equally amazing. The hot tub was fun to use. And there were 3 king sized beds, so my husband and I could stay with his parents and mine, and we were all comfortable. No awkward twin beds! The house is huge. The bedrooms are all large. The one I stayed in had gorgeous ocean views. The kitchen is huge and upgraded. There are laundry facilities. Really, everything you could ask for, and then some. The house was also very clean and very well up-kept, which I appreciated. No spider infestations. The front yard even had a play house for my daughter. That was such a special surprise when we arrived. She has that same playhouse at her preschool and was so excited to see it. The walk along the headlands is right around the corner, and it was a short walk into town, so we didn't need our cars. I really can't recommend this house enough, and can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you, Ruth, for sharing your amazing house with my family. It's a memory I will treasure."

  • Historic and artsy retreat!

"We enjoyed our stay in this historic cottage by the sea! The house is filled with artistic expression both inside and out . There lots of wonderful windows that make it feel light and airy and offer pleasant views of the sea and yard . The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for a wonderful time. Thank you Gary for sharing this special place.we would definitely recommend this to a friend. It is a old gem of a house . Great for those who appreciate a home with old house charm. Wonderful path down to the water too...and walking distance to everything."
