  • As advertised , Great simple cottage near the Redwood Parks

"Forest Haven was exactly what my Girlfriend and I were looking for while on a romantic getaway up to the Redwood Parks of Northern California. The cottage was clean and private and centrally located to the hiking trails we most wanted to check out (i.e. Patricks Point, Prairie Creek, etc.). The hot tub was little bit of a older model but in perfect working order, a great way to end the day. The kitchen area was great: the stove top and oven worked well , there were plenty of pots and pans for cooking. The market down the road is a full service "supermarket" and we found everything we needed for delicious meals at home there. The Propane grill in the yard was brand new. The wood burning stove keep the place toasty warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. You CAN hear the rooster in the morning but he is far enough away that we didn't find it problematic for sleeping in, and thought it added to the "country charm", as well getting a visit from the roaming pack of chickens while we drank coffee in the front yard every morning. The cottage immediately felt like home. I would highly recommend Forest Haven to friends looking for a affordable private country getaway. Its not the Ritz Carlton but its cozy and close to beach and Parks and all a couple or small family should need for a few days checking out this amazing park of the country."

  • Authentic Trinidad

"Having lived in Trinidad for over three years I can say that this place is authentic to our town in every way....except the price :) Its nooked out like crazy down a dirt road in a redwood grove; dripping, misty and quaint. The cabin itself is super adorable in that lovable Trinidad way, and almost has a nautical feel to it with inward slanting wooden walls and a loft bedroom, which is super cozy. It has all the basic amenities of a house and an open rock tile shower with awesome water pressure (which is hard to find around here) and a wood burning stove, also crucial to appreciating the weather on the coast. Lastly....there is a hot tub...surrounded by redwoods....and not a neighbor in site. Come to think of it you can'y even hear the road. The renters allow pets and were super friendly and flexible with my unpredictable plans...but hey, it's Norcal :)"
