"This is the perfect get-away home to rest, and rejuvenate. The home is clean, comfortable and well stocked for your relaxing experience. Everything is in excellent working order. There is a lovely patio and there are ocean-facing window seats to enjoy the spectacular coastal views from this ocean-front property. The well-maintained hiking trails lead for hours from the property front along the coastline and past beautiful Sea Ranch homes. Along the way there is a recreation center for swimming and tennis, and a harbor seal marine preserve where you watch the pups diving and playing in the ocean just below you. Bring a good book and enjoy a slower pace."

  • Loved it!

"The owners and caretaker are unbelievably sweet, gracious and attentive. The house has a convenient location and ample parking right behind the Boonville Hotel but was surprisingly private due to surrounding trees. The interior was clean and rustic... don't expect modern amenities (dated baths, couch covers, no dishwasher, mismatched kitchen supplies, etc). The three bedrooms and three bathrooms were great for accommodating three couples. It should be noted that two beds/bedrooms are only separated by a thin wall and the beds/linens/pillows are a bit dated. There is a dining room in the middle of the house that we did not use and a small yard that would be great to use in warmer weather. Overall, it's a comfortable, cozy, vintage-style farmhouse perfect for families and/or friends. We would absolutely return. Thank you Matt and Dixie!"

  • Spectacular!!!!

"This vacation rental was the perfect spot for two families to come together for our wedding. Everywhere you look, there is a rustic charm that invites and makes you feel at home. Becky and Dennis are so nice and accomodating. The house, barn and grounds are simply gorgeous. We didn't even get to the sandy shores of Lake Earl, but we have already discussed the possibility of a family get together here again next year!"

  • Heavenly Haven

"We spent an amazing week at Phoenix Nest! We fell in love with this beautiful home as soon as we found it on VRBO and although the photos are an accurate depiction of the home, it took our breath away as soon as we walked in the door and were stunned by the 180 degree panoramic view of the Peninsula and the ocean from the many floor to ceiling windows. The home is warm, welcoming, comfortable and extremely well appointed. Everything we needed was available and more. Pat has seen to every detail. We were two couples and the home was a perfect fit, as we are nature lovers -- we couldn't stop "ooing and ahing". We loved the cacophony of seals and sea lions that became the background music for our stay. The decorating is lovely and there are many unique pieces of art throughout the home to be enjoyed. We loved having our morning coffee, afternoon cocktail and stargazing at night on the deck. The kitchen is extremely well appointed and every detail provided for. The home is also impeccably clean. Pat is extremely responsive and was spot on with her recommendations for dining and touring. We highly recommend St. Orres, Trinks and Uneda Eat for dinner and Trinks for their amazing pastries as well!!! We also visited the Anderson Valley AVA which made for an enjoyable day of visiting wineraries. One of the highlights of our week (there are too many to list) was our day spent out on Haven's Neck, the private peninsula -- just breathtaking and so satisfying to know that it has been designated as a nature preserve, as it is a unique habitat. There had to be upwards of 500 seals and sea lions occupying the North Beach and we were able to explore the South beach with its many shells and driftwood. And...we can't forget the hot tub which is perfectly situated for use either during the day or at night. We can only hope to return someday to this little piece of heaven!"
