  • A magical cottage in a dramatic setting

"We had such a wonderful time it was difficult to get in our car and drive away. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable and well thought out. We appreciated all the touches Cathy and Jerry provided and were able to truly relax and enjoy the spectacular environment. The cottage is situated on a drop dead gorgeous cove and is designed with lovely large windows for seaside viewing. We were able to enjoy our vacation with our dog, and really appreciated being able to bring her. All the amenities made us feel pampered: the lovely wine and chocolates our hosts provided, the great linens and towels, the lavender bath products, kitchen utensils, quality pots and pans, flashlights and umbrella. Jerry gave us a warm welcome and then we really didn't see our hosts at all. Really hope to come back here some day..."

  • New Years stay

"This house was perfect for our group of friends. We loved the hot tub surrounded by redwoods. The owners responded quickly to emails and provided water bottles in the restrooms just like a hotel. Would definitely rent again!"

  • Fabulous!

"The first thing you notice upon walking into the house is the wall of windows with a view to the ocean. Our favorite spot was lounging on the window seats reading and staring at the ocean. We had daily deer visits and a great horned owl high in the pine tree looking for his evening meal. The house was comfortable and very welcoming with a well stocked kitchen to satisfy our cooking needs. The house is close to Pt. Arena where we found 2 high quality restaurants: Bird and Uneda! We love to visit NorCal and would definitely come back to St. Claire House."

  • Heavenly Haven

"We spent an amazing week at Phoenix Nest! We fell in love with this beautiful home as soon as we found it on VRBO and although the photos are an accurate depiction of the home, it took our breath away as soon as we walked in the door and were stunned by the 180 degree panoramic view of the Peninsula and the ocean from the many floor to ceiling windows. The home is warm, welcoming, comfortable and extremely well appointed. Everything we needed was available and more. Pat has seen to every detail. We were two couples and the home was a perfect fit, as we are nature lovers -- we couldn't stop "ooing and ahing". We loved the cacophony of seals and sea lions that became the background music for our stay. The decorating is lovely and there are many unique pieces of art throughout the home to be enjoyed. We loved having our morning coffee, afternoon cocktail and stargazing at night on the deck. The kitchen is extremely well appointed and every detail provided for. The home is also impeccably clean. Pat is extremely responsive and was spot on with her recommendations for dining and touring. We highly recommend St. Orres, Trinks and Uneda Eat for dinner and Trinks for their amazing pastries as well!!! We also visited the Anderson Valley AVA which made for an enjoyable day of visiting wineraries. One of the highlights of our week (there are too many to list) was our day spent out on Haven's Neck, the private peninsula -- just breathtaking and so satisfying to know that it has been designated as a nature preserve, as it is a unique habitat. There had to be upwards of 500 seals and sea lions occupying the North Beach and we were able to explore the South beach with its many shells and driftwood. And...we can't forget the hot tub which is perfectly situated for use either during the day or at night. We can only hope to return someday to this little piece of heaven!"
