  • Sweet house!

"This is a sweet 2 bdrm 2 bath bungalow, very comfortable, very good price. Especially nice is the 50's kitchen and the automatic fireplace. Beds are very comfortable and it is a quiet neighborhood close to shopping, etc. We loved staying here and will definitely stay again. (A couple of functional problems but I am sure they have been fixed by now!)"

  • Upgraded floors, downgraded cleanliness.

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here 2 years ago and found the property in better repair then than this visit. Nice to see the floors replaced but over all the property seems a bit run down. Weeds in the drive, paint chipping on the deck broken outdoor chairs and stained carpet.. The cleanliness was also not at good as before. I had to clean the glass at the front door from something splashed on it. There was a chuck of glass in the front bathroom tub and dead flies on the window ledges. The trash area had rotting fish on the roof and the trash can was nearly full."

  • As advertised , Great simple cottage near the Redwood Parks

"Forest Haven was exactly what my Girlfriend and I were looking for while on a romantic getaway up to the Redwood Parks of Northern California. The cottage was clean and private and centrally located to the hiking trails we most wanted to check out (i.e. Patricks Point, Prairie Creek, etc.). The hot tub was little bit of a older model but in perfect working order, a great way to end the day. The kitchen area was great: the stove top and oven worked well , there were plenty of pots and pans for cooking. The market down the road is a full service "supermarket" and we found everything we needed for delicious meals at home there. The Propane grill in the yard was brand new. The wood burning stove keep the place toasty warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. You CAN hear the rooster in the morning but he is far enough away that we didn't find it problematic for sleeping in, and thought it added to the "country charm", as well getting a visit from the roaming pack of chickens while we drank coffee in the front yard every morning. The cottage immediately felt like home. I would highly recommend Forest Haven to friends looking for a affordable private country getaway. Its not the Ritz Carlton but its cozy and close to beach and Parks and all a couple or small family should need for a few days checking out this amazing park of the country."

  • Amazing home, terrific views

"My lifelong friend and I enjoyed this home for our annual girl's vacation. All was perfect from the minute we walked into this comfortable and well appointed ocean-view house. The outside hot tub was a nice treat after our long walks along the spectacular sea cliffs and beaches. The home has windows everywhere to flood the home with light and beauty. The gorgeous wood paneling and floors and the high end appliances were appreciated. Everything worked without a hitch. Bedding is comfy and the bedrooms have views. Wake up to deer grazing in the Oceanside yard! We will be going back to this place often. Thanks Gilberts for all the nice touches."
