  • Secluded yet so close to town

"This place grows and grows on you so as you never want to leave. Yes it is rustic, refined it is not, but that's part of the charm. What is really lovely is the location which is minutes from Fort Bragg, yet ultra private and slap bang on the wild coast. Sipping mimosas outside on a sunny morning with the sea at your feet is cathartic. The fire in the evening, sipping a red wine with friends reflecting on the days excursions is perfect relaxation. Do take your own drinking water. Will we be back? Most definitely!"

  • Sweet house!

"This is a sweet 2 bdrm 2 bath bungalow, very comfortable, very good price. Especially nice is the 50's kitchen and the automatic fireplace. Beds are very comfortable and it is a quiet neighborhood close to shopping, etc. We loved staying here and will definitely stay again. (A couple of functional problems but I am sure they have been fixed by now!)"

  • Ferndale Cream Cottage

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My stay at the Cream Cottage was very nice. The cottage was small but has everything needed. The location is fantastic just a few minute walk to the downtown area. The garden was quaint with a nice sitting area and fire pit. The management and owners have the cottage stocked with anything you might need including information about the town and things to do. The cottage really does not have a kitchen. There is a mini fridge, mini coffee maker, kettle, silverware, and sink. There are a few BBqs outside if you'd like to grill."

  • Loved it!

"The owners and caretaker are unbelievably sweet, gracious and attentive. The house has a convenient location and ample parking right behind the Boonville Hotel but was surprisingly private due to surrounding trees. The interior was clean and rustic... don't expect modern amenities (dated baths, couch covers, no dishwasher, mismatched kitchen supplies, etc). The three bedrooms and three bathrooms were great for accommodating three couples. It should be noted that two beds/bedrooms are only separated by a thin wall and the beds/linens/pillows are a bit dated. There is a dining room in the middle of the house that we did not use and a small yard that would be great to use in warmer weather. Overall, it's a comfortable, cozy, vintage-style farmhouse perfect for families and/or friends. We would absolutely return. Thank you Matt and Dixie!"
