  • The home is well kept and comfortable.

"The home is well designed a fit for small groups. Neighborhood is tranquil and wildlife visits were frequent. Proximity to beach and small quaint coastal towns makes it a nice home-base. Local weather is typical for the north coast, though Irish Beach seemed to get a bot more sun than surrounding region."

  • Beautiful place

"We had a great time at the BMG lodge. It is situated on the bank of river smith. The river is literally 15 feet away from the patio of the house. Having 2 bathroom in the house helps. 5 min away from the Jedediah Smith Redwood State park and half an hour away from Crescent City. Definitely recommend this place."

  • Much needed getaway!

"My husband and I had a great stay at Driftwood with our two little girls. There was a spacious front and backyard for the kids to play in. The owner was easy to work with and made it a breeze. Everything in the home was easy to find and well labeled. The water filter in the kitchen was a bonus, as we did not need bottled water during our visit. The girls loved the rope swing and tetherball in the front yard. There was plenty for them to do at the house without bringing anything from home. Although the caretaker lives on the property we never saw her once so it felt very private. We only did the trip to the beach once as the walk was pretty long, and the climb over the driftwood to get the beach itself was a bit much for us. With that said the beaches in the area were really fun as there is a ton of driftwood on every beach in the area, and our kids had a blast building at every beach we explored during our visit. We went to Manchester Beach, Irish Beach, the Point Arena lighthouse, and some other places with coastal access. We checked out the towns in both directions. We did laundry once at the Wash House in Anchor Bay. Our favorite spot for dinner was Bridget Dolan's Pub in Elk. The Elk Store makes great sandwiches, and we did a few picnics with those. The breakfast we had at Circa 62 in Little River was well worth the drive. We went into Fort Bragg and had fish and chips and chowder at Sea Pal Cove. Manchester seems to have more fog that some of the surrounding areas, but we had a great time staying here. Although we prefer a property with easier/closer beach access, I have to say the view from the property was amazing. Overall, a wonderful vacation house that I would definitely recommend to others.."
