  • Exceptional comfort and location!

"We concluded a round of amusement parks with 3 nights in Newport. The house has ample room and is very well appointed with kitchen utensils and nice linens. The beds are comfortable. The feel is luxurious comforts. The decor very tasteful and themed for nautica stay. Location allowed walks to beach, harbor, pier, restaurants. Management and owner reply quickly and very friendly. Absolutely pleased. While here was already planning next trip!!! Relaxed and happy. Refreshed to return home. Thank you!"

  • Good Vacation Home

"Spent a month at this property in August. Centrally located on the island. Very easy to get to ferry or shopping by foot or bike. The house comes with access to 3 kayaks which was nice. Owner Kim was extremely accommodative and easy to deal with."

  • Good central location.

"Our family of five stayed here for a week. It’s a great location, close to attractions and beaches both up and down the coast, from Long Beach down to Newport and beyond. HB is a very fun and convenient spot to have as a central base for a nice SoCal vacation. The beach there is great for surfing/boogie boards, walking, biking on the paths, etc. I personally recommend going to Crystal Cove State Park to the south, and Naples Island to the north--two of my favorite places! There are 3 cruiser bikes available (bring your own helmet if that’s important to you) which are great to ride along the beach boardwalk. There are also several boogie boards, a beach umbrella and sand toys. There were a few beach chairs available but generally they were heavy and/or broken so we didn't use them. According to my “MapMyWalk” app, it’s 1/3 mile from the front door to the sand on the beach, (add another block or two if you want to cross PCH at a crosswalk). You’ll get your own key code to unlock the door so no need to keep track of a house key, which is great. Off-street parking in the alley. The house itself could be described as “shabby chic”—a bit rundown in the furnishings with an abundance of straight-back chairs both inside and out, but overall very adequate and spacious enough for a family of five. Note that the following items are not provided so you’ll want to bring them with or buy at your earliest convenience: laundry detergent, paper towels/wipes/rags, paper napkins. There are 2 kitchen towels and a new dish sponge provided but that's it. There are plenty of nice bathroom towels and two small beach towels. You need to bring cash or a cashier’s check/money order for the payment upon arrival—no credit cards beyond the initial deposit."

  • Wonderful vacation at a beautiful home at the beach.

"We have stayed at this home several times and intend to return soon. My husband grew up in Seal Beach so we come and stay at "California Dreaming" a couple of times each year. The house is very spacious, comfortable, and is more beautiful than the pictures. The kitchen has everything I have ever needed including cake pans, cookie sheets, crockpot, measuring cups, etc. They have just replaced the BarBQue grill with a new propane grill, which is much more convenient. In the garage they have beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys for the kids. Since we fly in from another state having all of this available enhances our trip. It is a quick walk across the street to the beach, and an eight block walk to the pier and Main Street. On this trip our rental car didn't leave the garage. Susan is very easy to work with and responsive to our needs. The sunsets from the rooftop deck are stunning. If you stay at this home you will not be disappointed."
