  • Wonderful place

"We had such a nice time, spending October in this house. Loved the house and the neighborhood. Really close to the beach, restaurants and playgrounds for children."

  • Truly a great place! So convenient to food, fun and beach!

"Such a great experience start to finish! I was in a rush booking a place since my previous housing fell through at the last moment. Michelle quickly saw my request and the narrow timing and called me up. We traded info so that I could get her place booked within the hour. SO GLAD WE DID! The place was exactly as presented here. We were the upper unit, so if you have mobility issues check out one of Michelle's other properties. For us though, it was perfect. Street parking in the area is difficult so the garage was a nice feature. Its snug fit so big vehicle might not fit, but we had friends come for drinks on Friday night and they didn't have trouble finding street parking- so it is do-able. The patio was lovely, under what may be one of the only non-palm trees in Newport Beach. So nice to be out as the sun goes down, with the other neighbors on the street doing the same. While no view... you can honestly walk to the front gate and be at the beach in less than 5 minutes. The house comes complete with everything you would need to make your beach time a blast! Beach chairs, boogie boards, pails, shovels, towels... you name it, its supplied. Even with our busy schedule we found time every day to go down and enjoy the beach. The house its self is also very nice and well equipped. I've stayed in other VRBOs that had basic starter supplies. But Michelle supplied everything but food and beverages! There is a washing/dryer is in the garage, we didn't use it but all the laundry supplies were there as well. We called Rollo when we were finishing our shopping and we met for a walk around the place. He is a great asset for property management. He talked about the place, and the surrounding attractions with some hilarious stories. He made sure we had his number and left saying several times "call if you need anything". Michelle text several times asking if everything was going well and just made me feel that she was invested in us having a great stay. On Saturday, when it was time to go... we went to the beach in the morning and then spent the time dragging our feet because none of us wanted to leave. I know when you leave feedback... there should be something that you could suggest changing...honestly I can't think of a thing! All of us so enjoyed our time there. It is a terrific place, well managed and will be on my return list! Thanks for everything Michelle and Rollo!"

  • Great Vacation Home!!

"This is our 2nd stay at Casa de Balboa. Last time we stayed in the upstairs 3-bed unit. This time we stayed at the downstairs 2-bed unit. Pam has the finest accommodations in any Newport Beach condo we have ever rented. The towels and bedding are first class hotel quality. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking tools to make any dinner you desire. The condo is just beautiful and close to everything. This location is just a block from the pier and there is a Farmer's Market every Sunday morning. We walked to the market, did our shopping and carried our produce just a block back to the condo. One garage space is provided. Parking is very limited to non-existent on the street. I do not recommend bringing a 2nd vehicle as you will have a lot of problems finding a "free" parking space on the curb as the area residents use the street parking for "long term parking/storage" of their extra vehicles. There are a few paid parking spaces, but we never tried to use these as we were able to fit our minivan in the garage (barely). The area has always seemed very safe, but we did have a little scare one night. We were sleeping with our slider open and a stranger "mistakenly" entered our bedroom at 4:30 in the morning while we slept. Our dog barked like crazy and woke us up and we screamed at the "visitor" and he quickly and quietly left. Therefore, we don't recommend sleeping with any windows or doors open. This might be an issue with no air conditioning in the warmer summer months. There are two sets of gates between the street and the back courtyard and the "visitor" walked through both sets of gates to gain access our open patio door. I spoke with Pam the next morning and It is believed it was an intoxicated local resident who may have mistook our condo for his, but nevertheless, it scared the bejezus out of us. There is a pole you can put in the sliding door track that keeps the door open a 4 inch crack and prevents the door opening any further. We would gladly return, but we would only stay in the upstairs unit because of our late-night scare."

  • Newport Vacation Home

"We just spent a week in this home and it was amazing. The home is well taken care of, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The photos don't even do this place justice. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessary items to cook and BBQ for the week. The rooftop deck is absolutely amazing. It was the perfect place to send our evenings while the baby was asleep downstairs. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from the pier and you have the beach on one side and the bay on the other side. There was more than enough beach items including chairs, coolers, towels, sand toys, boogie board, bikes and a wagon to tote all the toys around with you. Both the homeowner and the property manager were a pleasure to work with. They are very responsive, friendly and very easy to work with. They answered every question we had and always got back to me in a very timely manner. Lorraine was there to greet us and show us around the house and was very accommodating with our arrival and departure times. We will defiantly be coming back to this home in the future."
