  • Perfect neighborHOOD

"Felt very safe in this Newport neighborhood for 70 days during my relocation from N CA. The property is spacious, clean, quiet, maintained with care, easy hwy 55 access for my work commute, and provided start-up provisions like coffee, salt/pepper, laundry soap, etc., which were much appreciated. A quick walk down the bluff and the PCH awaits you with the Newport Harbor, all the lovely restaurants( Rusty Pelican is friendly and has a great happy hour), fancy cars, post office, and more. Other side of the PCH you're in Balboa/Lido communities and quick few blocks to the Newport Pier & beach with lots of places to explore and no car necessary. I highly recommend shopping at Fashion Island, enjoying the beach at Crystal Cove State Park ($15 entrance fee, but good at all State Parks for the day), and stopping by any of the piers for surfer and people watching. If you get to book during Halloween you're in for a special treat--this cliff top community knows how to party, be sure to bring your costume."

  • Comfy beach house

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Warm and inviting home, would be great for entertaining invited guests as the kitchen is quite large and there is dinner seating for 16+ or so in the house with tons more room outside on the private decks and courtyard. Great location between the city ocean piers and across the street from the new public marina & park where you or a visiting guest could moor a large boat for short durations. Lots of possibilities here. This is an older home with character, not a beach beater or a place for wild parties. And despite its location on Balboa Blvd the setback and foliage makes it feel like a retreat."

  • Beautiful family home steps to beach

"We loved this home on the peninsula. Service from the owners was exceptional. The house was well laid out, beautifully built and decorated. My children loved all the toys and beach gear in the garage too. We will definitely try and re-book again during our next stay."

  • Upper level oceanfront, exactly as described

"Very nice overall. We got the linens and they were waiting for us cleaned and individually wrapped in Saran Wrap, which was refreshing. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the essential tools, but it could have been cleaner. We feel the urge to pre-clean in all VRBOs, but especially when we found crumbs throughout the drawers and on top of the appliances, stains on the ceiling, and a bounty of mold in underside of the blender. The bedrooms were very roomy, although the mattresses need to be upgraded. Our team complained that the bunk beds were very lumpy. The master king bed was also fairly indented and should be replaced. The owners should try rolling from one side to the other to see for themselves. I slept well despite this. The garage was available, but is extremely narrow. Four cars can supposedly fit in there, but not if they are any bigger than a mid-size vehicle, and even then it takes some careful maneuvering to get in and out. The code that we were given for the unit didn't work in the door, although it did work for the side door to the garage. We called about this but it was never fixed. Luckily we had the one key for the door so we could get in and out. Wifi is available, but the signal was spotty and weak. It would be nice if there were a few more of the essentials provided, such as shower soap and shampoo (or at least listed that we should bring these with us), as well as some kitchen essentials like aluminum foil, Saran Wrap, and zip lock bags or some kind of Tupperware storage. And laundry soap. We bought these ourselves and left them for the next renter. Beyond these drawbacks, the unit was basically just as described in the listing. We weren't expecting the Ritz Carlton, but a bit more attention to details and some regular updates to some of the most-used parts of the unit could make it much better. All in all, we would happily rent this again."
