  • Beautiful home in a beautiful location = a beautiful experience

"We often go to the beach as a family, but this was the first time renting a home at the beach. Russ made the experience easy and trouble free. The home was beautiful, clean, well-appointed and elegantly furnished. It felt less like a rental and more like being invited to a friend or relative’s home. My wife and I have 3 young children and the beach is just steps away from the home between the 2 piers. The location was away from the party centered homes that lay close to the pier. It was perfect for the family. It afforded a more intimate and private experience on the sand. Wine and chocolates were waiting for us when we arrived, place settings to have an elegant dinner at home or just to enjoy the wonderful roof top deck. Russ was extremely responsive and professional making the experience feel like an upscale hotel. Restaurants are close and Russ provides a book with his reviews and selections of his favorites in the area, we tried several. We loved Gina's Pizza for causal dinner and the Stuft Surfer for breakfast (which is only a block from the house). The home is loaded with amenities, one of them being beach bikes in the garage! Me and my son spent the mornings riding bikes and picking up breakfast from some of the local eateries while the rest of the family slept. Truly a wonderful and unique experience for the family. We were looking for something that could bring us closer as a family and something that we could make a tradition. We cannot wait come back. I highly recommend it."

  • Back to the Basics - Relaxing and Rejuvenating

"If you are seeking the vanilla, modern type accommodation, this place is not for you. If you are looking to go back in time, interested in the history of this home/area, enjoy the quiet and simple things in life then this place is for you. It's not to say that you will be completely disconnected as this home is equipped with high-speed Wifi Internet access and comes with a washer/dryer, etc. Even though there was TV/cable we never watched it. Spent most of the time walking on the property, enjoying the ocean view from the patio deck, and marveling at the construction of the home and reading the story behind it. There is no air conditioning but there seems to be a never ending amount of cool breeze coming from the ocean (stayed here in the middle of August where the temperatures were in the mid 80s) and lots of shade from the many beautiful trees lining the property. The owner does provide electric portable fans if needed. The house was built in the 1920s. Its free from drywall and concrete slab floors. Its all wood and with that comes nostalgic properties like the creaking sounds as you step on the wood floors. The property is clean, well kept and the owner (Annette) is accommodating, reasonable and friendly. I would add that if you stay here, to respect the property by being gentle with opening and closing of doors and windows as its all thin wood framed, many of which are original pieces. My family and I really enjoyed the time spent here and we can't wait to visit again. I personally would like to stay here during winter season and hopefully have some rain so I can hear the raindrops hitting the roof... :-)"

"We really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is very clean and cozy. Eric is great and always available. The apartment is in the middle of everything and is in a very clean and safe area. Definitely, will recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to enjoy Ervine. Thank you Eric"

  • That lovely porch

"Long-time friends joined us for a week. We started out on the porch, enjoying the magical late-afternoon light on the water as we enjoyed each others' company. The home interior is charming, fresh and inviting. I could stand in one place, turn around and see something new with each turn. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we liked the expandable dining table. Did I mention the porch? It spoke our language, "slow down and enjoy": coffee in the morning, people-watching (and boats!), naps on the chaise lounge, and a shared bottle of wine at sunset."
