  • So many delightful details in this home….

"My parents rented this home for our Christmas/New Year family reunion. There are so many beautiful features of the home I don't know where to begin. No detail has been overlooked. On this trip I decided that Spanish colonial architecture is my favorite style. Everything about the home is beautiful and charming, inside and out. Sue has done a great job decorating. The light fixtures, tile work, vintage furniture, pillows were all perfect for an historical home like this one. My husband, our two children and I stayed in the “casita” master suite overlooking the patio courtyard. The suite is completely charming and no detail is overlooked. The casita is open, airy, sunny, and surrounded by trees, like living in a tree house! Despite being two blocks from downtown San Clemente, the house is pretty quiet. The bed was super comfy and we all slept amazingly. My parents slept in the “colorido” suite which opens up to the courtyard with a barbecue, plenty of patio furniture and Jacuzzi tub. The kids practically lived in that tub, and my 4 year old even learned how to swim in it! (It’s pretty big Jacuzzi.) I’m not joking when I say that he took about 3 hot tubs a day. After a day of playing at the beach and in the cold water we were grateful to be able to warm up in the Jacuzzi. The courtyard feels very private and is beautiful with plants and whimsical outdoor art. At night we turned on the outdoor lights which lent a very festive atmosphere. We spent many nights cooking and eating in the backyard and just loved it. Because my grandmother cannot walk stairs she took advantage of one of the downstairs bedrooms. Fortunately, most of the living area at Casa Mira Mar is on the first floor. I was happy to see the house was stocked with children’s toys, including beach toys, as well as a pack and play crib and high chair. The house was decorated with sweet little Christmas decorations as well, which was a nice and surprising touch. The backyard is secured with a gate which was ideal for letting the kids play outside. The kitchen is supplied with new dishes and appliances and is stocked with all the spices we needed to cook up some great meals. The home is very close to the beach and train station (we took the Surfliner to San Diego for the day). There is plenty of parking with room for three cars on the driveway and it’s easy to access the freeway from Casa Mira Mar. One of my favorite features is the sky deck with stunning views of the mountains and water."

  • Best Family Vacation Ever!

"The reviews were accurate, this place is PEFECT for a family vacation! Two things sold us on this place, 1) the location between both piers, and 2) the patio and bbq, and after working with Jim (the relator), I'd have to say he's the third reason you want this place! Ok yeah, the appliances and furnishings were a little dated (brand new fridge and bbq) but EVERYTHING worked just fine - honestly we bbq'd every afternoon and evening anyway so rarely needed the oven/stove or microwave. The house sleeps 12 comfortably. It has a nice flat screen in the family room (with HBO), and wireless internet access which came in handy. A nice large dining room table to use for playing games or meals ... we ate outside most of the time on the patio table. the master bedroom has a superb view and a little patio of it's own that you can enjoy an ocean view while having your coffee in the morning. I would recommend you pick up you food and drinks at Costco prior to checking in as the Von's Pavilion was the only grocery store nearby and we found them to be a bit pricey. Also, plan on bringing any special herbs and spices as there was just the basic in the cupboards (we left a few extra spices to help build up the options). Another great thing is that Jim provides parking for two vehicles in a garage! A huge bonus that came in handy as everyone was jockeying for parking spots on the street. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend you consider this property first - I know we plan to stay again next year around the same time and I'll probably book it a year in advance so no one snatches it up. Thanks for a great time Jim! My family loved the vacation!"

  • Long weekend getaway

"My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay. We had stayed in the area before so we had an idea where the condo was located but had no idea how perfect the location was. Very close to restaurants and great surf. The condo had all the comforts of home with spectacular views. Douglas was very helpful and readily available to answer questions throughout our stay. Hope to return next October for our son's wedding."

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful location = a beautiful experience

"We often go to the beach as a family, but this was the first time renting a home at the beach. Russ made the experience easy and trouble free. The home was beautiful, clean, well-appointed and elegantly furnished. It felt less like a rental and more like being invited to a friend or relative’s home. My wife and I have 3 young children and the beach is just steps away from the home between the 2 piers. The location was away from the party centered homes that lay close to the pier. It was perfect for the family. It afforded a more intimate and private experience on the sand. Wine and chocolates were waiting for us when we arrived, place settings to have an elegant dinner at home or just to enjoy the wonderful roof top deck. Russ was extremely responsive and professional making the experience feel like an upscale hotel. Restaurants are close and Russ provides a book with his reviews and selections of his favorites in the area, we tried several. We loved Gina's Pizza for causal dinner and the Stuft Surfer for breakfast (which is only a block from the house). The home is loaded with amenities, one of them being beach bikes in the garage! Me and my son spent the mornings riding bikes and picking up breakfast from some of the local eateries while the rest of the family slept. Truly a wonderful and unique experience for the family. We were looking for something that could bring us closer as a family and something that we could make a tradition. We cannot wait come back. I highly recommend it."
