  • total peace.....

"Tough to stay for long at a place you love as it starts feeling like it belongs to you! We really loved "our" house where we stayed for the months of Jan and Feb.. We found the street between us and the beach to be of zero consequence. We had left our car in Seattle and thus used public transportation every where we went. Bus is right outside the house, Coaster to the South and North is just 3/4 of a mile of walking (or can take bus); library, grocery store and weekly farmer's market just a few blocks away. We took Amtrak to L.Angeles. Endless stuff to do in and around Carlsbad. We have stayed in Carlsbad for a number of Januaries now and so end up doing different things each time. We found great peace at the rental and found Pam and Al to be amazingly gracious hosts. Lovely people. The house did not lack things we needed. We did have reception problems with the T.V in living room and a new T.V was put in in the Master bedroom. And yet, since we were not into staying indoors and watching too much T.V., it ended up not being a big deal. There was no radio but Pam ordered Bluetooth for us to listen to our music. We definitely wold use the rental again and have already told friends about it too."

  • Comfortable

"The house was great. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It was only a few minutes away from the beach which was convenient. I would gladly stay again if we go back."

  • Very bright, clean and comfortable.

"Our stay at this property was very comfortable and pleasant. The place is very clean and bright and the master bedroom/bath is huge. The other two bedrooms were not as large, but very comfortable. There were six adults in our party and everyone had plenty of room. I did not have much opportunity to use the kitchen other than for breakfast, as our visit was for our son's wedding, and we only stayed at this house for three nights. I can say the appliances were very nice and it seemed like there were sufficient pots and pans for cooking other meals. Typically I do look for a well stocked kitchen as I love to cook and love the ability to save money by not having to go out for every meal when away. Because of the activities involving the wedding and associated preparations, we pretty much were just there to sleep and eat breakfast so were not able to enjoy the community pool or even sit in the living room for a while and relax. It was a busy time but if we return to the area for a less hectic stay, I would not hesitate to book there again and take advantage of the comfort of the place. No disappointments with this place."

  • Perfect location!

"We stayed at this property for 6 days with our 3 and 5 year olds. This condo was a great choice for our family. It's a 5 minutes walk to the beach, 8 minutes drive to Legoland, walking distance to several souvenir shops and restaurants (we specially liked Knockout Pizza, Harbor Fish, Señor Grubby's - good food and fairly priced). Such a great and convenient location! The unit was very clean when we arrived, the beds were comfortable and it was pretty well equipped including beach chairs, towels, umbrellas. The kitchen has been updated since the picture in this listing and now has newer countertops and s coat of white paint on the cabinets. There were only two minor downsides that honestly didn't bother us much, but may bother other people. One is the train. The train tracks are fairly close and the trains can be pretty loud sometimes, specially when the windows are open. The other was parking. The assigned parking spot is really hard to get in and out, specially if you drive a large SUV or minivan like us. But those were just two minor details and weren't a big deal for us. We enjoyed our stay regardless! I would definitely choose to stay at this unit again next time we visit Carlsbad."
