  • Great family weekend.

"Two families of four spent a very nice weekend in Borrego Springs at 43 Palms. Richard was very responsive to any questions we had and even though the property is older, it is well maintained, with a great entertaining area, nice pool and jacuzzi. We would choose to stay there again in the future."

  • What's not to love?

"This is a great place to stay. My husband and I just finished a week there and we highly recommend it. The owners are terrific, responsive and helpful. Loved sitting outside at night looking at the stars, using an iPhone app to try and identify them. Nearby Ram's Hill Club has excellent food. If you want to sit outside at sunset, make a reservation. Also, the Italian restaurant out by the airport is pretty good, not fancy, but fine. The bed in the master was fine. Lots of lamps for reading. Two bathrooms so each person of the couple has his or her own. Spices and condiments are there as is information about what to do locally. Although we are not golfers, we heard others talk about how wonderful the course i. The home has a wonderful view of the course plus a pond with resident ducks. There was a wonderful art show in town that weekend plus plenty of birders, hikers, cyclists, four wheelers, golfers, painters, swimmers and people looking for the spring wildflowers. We did have a meal at nearby Zorro's and it made us wonder why anyone would go to a hotel in Borrego when they can enjoy a much better time here. Thanks to our hosts."

  • Pristine, Adorable Tiny House

"My husband and I are in our mid 50's traveling to California for our nephew's wedding. This was the perfect tiny house for our 5 day San Diego trip. Everything was exactly as described.....even the wine and terrific cookies. We were particularly impressed with how clean and updated the property was. It is tiny, but provided everything you need at a value price for up to two people. Be aware that if you are from the Midwest, as we are, you will have to get used to parking in San Diego. When we first saw that off street parking can be crowded at times, we were a little concerned. By the end of the first day, we realized that parking is a challenge everywhere you go in San Diego. It just goes with the territory. We managed to get on street parking within a block of the property every day. Most days it was just a few feet away. This is a minor inconvenience compared to all the advantages this rental has to offer. Also, if you are a cable TV junkie, better bring your Roku. They offer only basic local antenna TV plus WiFi ....no cable. This wasn't much of an issue since we were constantly on the go and just used it for local weather while we were getting ready in the AM. There's just so much to see and do in San Diego, there was no time for hanging out in front of the tube. One thing we really enjoyed was the central location. University Heights is very centrally located, close to the zoo, Balboa Park and the airport. We were just a short drive from Old Town and Little Italy. The owners provided a great book of local attractions, maps and restaurants plus they provide an assortment of trial size toiletries, an iron and a blow dryer. We found the owners to be very responsive, just a quick text and any questions we had were quickly answered. The kitchen had all the basic necessities for reheating leftovers or making a simple breakfast. One final thing to consider about this booking is what a great value you get for the price. Lots of listings offer a low price, but when you factor in the added cleaning costs, you really are paying much more than you expect. This place only has a $20 cleaning fee. Plus there is a washer and dryer available just outside the door if you need to do a quick load. If you want to save a ton of money, but still stay in a clean, quiet central location, this is your best bet. Plus you get a taste of tiny house living. We will book there again on our next trip out."
