  • Family Reunion Perfection

"We had 8 children from 2-10. We had 9 adults. It was the perfect amount of space for us to spread out. If you have little children you will not be able to walk to Moonlight Beach where there is heavy lifeguard coverage (which we wanted) so we had to schlep the umbrellas and towels, etc. in the 3 vans. The parking will fit 3 vans, 4 small cars. Two vans in the garage means they fit, but you can't get your body out. We enjoyed the kitchen, but the knives are no good for veggie chopping. No coffee grinder. Other than that, we only cooked breakfasts and a couple of dinners. Lots of restaurants, but once again you need to drive to the restaurants that will seat a dozen. Loved the spa. Wish there had been a pool. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and of course loved the sound of the ocean 24 hours a day. I would enjoy this home immensely if we had no children and could just sit and chill."

  • Quiet, clean and close to town

"We stayed 3 nights at this nice Encinitas beach house. We enjoyed our stay. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5: 1. No air conditioning (there are very nice ceiling fans with remotes in every room). We would have loved to just open all the windows, but there are no screens, so leaving them open all night wasn't really an option. 2. The backyard is shared by 1, maybe 2 other tenants of the same building. So, although it feels very private, we did get spied upon by a mom and her little girl. If you stay here, be sure not to walk around undressed, you might also get spied upon. 3. Parking. Luckily we decided last minute to only bring one car because when we got there, the drive way was taken up by an old RV for sale and what looked like a work truck. There is really only one true parking space for the unit. There were many great things about this place, so it's hard not to give it 5 stars. The owners are very nice. The house is fully equipped for beach going: ice coolers, towels, umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, etc. They even include a beach parking pass, which is very cool because beach parking is about $15 a day. I would recommend renting this place, it just might not be for some folks who require certain amenities."

  • A beautiful and cozy retreat

"We just finished a fun week at this lovely beachside home. It has all that you need and more, especially for kids! The owner was so thoughtful and easy to communicate with. The home and community were easy to find and get access too. It felt very safe being a gated community. The beach was never crowded. The views were incredible. Encinitas and Carlsbad had all we needed and more. Wonderful restaurants were everywhere. My daughter cried the morning we left she loved it there so much. We hope to return next year!"

  • Perfect beach getaway

"We had a great stay at this Moonlight Beach gem. The house had everything we needed to make it feel like a home and it was soooo CLEAN! Every inch of the place was spotless. We enjoyed most of our time at the house on the huge deck with the most amazing views, grilling, playing cards, visiting and admiring the ocean. The beach is such a short walk away and so is the best homemade ice cream shop, a sandwich shop and a coffee shop. It was perfect for our little family of 4!"
